Upgrading Your Pledge & Late Pledging

We’ll close up late pledging the same day we lock pledges, on May 4, 2026. Get your late pledge in for Munchkin Second Edition, which includes all of the additional bonuses that were unlocked during the campaign.
Along with the ability to snag additional copies of Munchkin Second Edition, as well as Munchkin Digital to show off your new player skins, we also added a number of RPG PDFs and a selection of our other great games like Gelatinous, Zombie Dice, and Purrfect Potions! Add-on selection will vary by region and will be shipped separately from the items available in the $20, $40, and $60 pledge levels.

Over the next few weeks, the team here will begin work on the pledge manager, which we are looking to make available sometime in March. Keep an eye out here on the campaign for a future update for the pledge manager invites, along with other Munchkin related announcements.
We’re coming down to the end of the campaign, with less than 5 hours remaining. However, the campaign may not end at exactly 8pm! Thanks to the Backer Train, each new pledge will extend the duration of the campaign by 10 minutes. How long will the train go on? An hour? Two? Into the next day? Either way, we’ll be here for it, and it’s not like Year of the Munchkin just ends when the campaign for Second Edition does!
Big Box Upgrade Set
We’ve seen a number of questions and general feedback come in following the Big Box Upgrade Set availability change. The Big Box Upgrade Set was always intended for backers of the Munchkin Big Box campaign to add even more value to their Big Box. We don’t regret making these available, but we knew we couldn’t ensure only Big Box backers selected it, since munchkins sometimes like to just loot the room. We were at risk of having more orders of copies we’d produced if we didn’t enact a limit.
We also received feedback from those that didn’t necessarily own a Big Box, but did have their own cherished collections of the original edition of Munchkin. We want you to know that we’re listening and talking about this internally, and we’re looking into what we can do for people still interested in a physical upgrade kit. Unfortunately, this idea won’t materialize during this campaign, but we will share more details as we have them. In the meantime, the Upgrade Rules are free for everyone and available now.
Print Logistics & Timing
One of our goals for Munchkin Second Edition is to fulfill the campaign and have copies available at Gen Con 2026. Coupled with the tighter timing required when planning around Chinese New Year, that meant we held ourselves to a strict manufacturing schedule. The process started in December 2025 and has been ongoing. Things that were not "possible upgrades with stretch goals" were sent to print asap. This staged approach to the manufacturing process has helped us keep our goals in sight.
Tower of Flower!
Just sculpted and added to the free Dice Tower files (this is not a goal, this is a freebie): Flower, with the Unnatural Axe! Now you have your choice of Munchkins for the tower . . . or, you know, do two towers! The manic expression on Flower's face is partially due to the camera angle and the texture of the 3D print, and partially due to the fact that SHE IS NUTS.
We are also including supported files for small (pawn-sized) versions of both Spyke and Flower, but those aren't printed yet, so you don't get a picture.
Munchkin Second Edition Card List Updated!
A number of requests came through the campaign and the official SJG Discord server to mark the starred cards for the game setup. We’re happy to say that we’ve made some updates to the Card List, and now Star Cards are marked with an (*). Head over to the Munchkin Second Edition game page and find the Card List under Resources.
Thank you all so much for coming out to support the Second Edition and to meet and connect with others. Munchkin Second Edition is close to reaching the 24-hour remaining point, with just under 30 hours left to secure a copy of the first printing!
Rules, Schmules . . .
We know you are itching to kick down the Door, but before you do, you need to know the rules! Munchkin Second Edition features a number of gameplay additions and improvements, and you’ll definitely want to give the rules a read before you start kickin’. Check out the Munchkin Second Edition rules, as well as the Upgrade rules, for those looking to use First Editioncards with Second Editionrules.
The Big Box Upgrade Set was created with the intent of allowing backers of the 2024 Munchkin Big Box campaign to upgrade their Big Box, making it Second Editioncompatible. We’ve always had an internal target based on the original print quantities, and we pressed uncomfortably close to that as we entered the final 2 days. With the campaign well into its third week and now entering the final 48 hours, we are putting our full focus on Munchkin Second Edition.
