I really like the idea of tracking the life of a torch or other in real time as opposed to game time. I saw it mentioned first in shadowdark and now here. I want to try it, but haven't had the chance yet, as my current group is fairly high level so they have enough permanent or semi-permanent magic light sources. How do you do it, though? Do you just set an alarm on your phone? That's the first idea that comes to mind but I kind of find it a bit "unromantic" and maybe disruptive, having a phone ring every 30min or so.
