I think more than ever we need pride.

With how things are going, the anti-trans movement affects not only trans people but also has a knock-on effect against all LGBTQA+ and women's rights. The online discourse, and new laws in the West stripping back rights, not to mention all the places in the world that still illegalise and dehumanise the LGBTQA+ we need pride.

We need to say "we are here, we exist, we always have, always will, and nothing they can say or do will change that truth."

So I am presenting to you 'A pride of lions'! A fun way to show off your pride in style!

it's not just the play on words as to why I picked this as a project -lions are my favourite animal ever since I saw lionking when it first came out at around four.

A lion pride is one of the most united and close groups within nature. Primarily made of mothers, grandmothers and sisters (and young brothers too) with one to four males protecting the group. Lion prides are united and strong! They work together to keep the group stable and happy, not only that, but they are also renowned for being queer in many ways! Gay and lesbian lions that refuse to seek out a traditional pride and only stick to the same gender. Bisexual males are very common, with them romancing each other as well as the pride's females. There have also been intersex females who have grown manes and have increased testosterone. Nature does not shy away when it comes to it, and neither should we!

And I feel the LGBTQA+ community (for the most part) is just like a pride, a strong community that can work together to keep each other safe and have each other's backs!

*Whilst the whole theme of these pins is about being open and proud, I understand how hard it is, and sometimes how unsafe it is to come out, that's ok, there is no rush. Just remember you are still an important member of the community, and you are loved.

Pledge Now, Pay Later!

Thanks to how Backerkit works, you won't need to pay a penny until the end of the campaign, assuming the minimum goal is reached. You can upgrade or downgrade your pledge at any time before the campaign concludes. 
Every pledge made helps towards unlocking the goals for more pins! The more pins we unlock, the more designs you will be able to choose from!  

Once the campaign is finished, you will be sent a survey where you’ll be able to choose what pins you wish to receive. There will also be the chance to add on extra pins from any of the unlocked options or the bonus ‘add-on only’ items!

You may also order as many extra pins as you wish, even if you originally pledged less.

Each subsequent goal goes to unlocking two more sets of pride-themed lion pins!
We may consider unlocking more designs if we smash all the current goals.

The charity pin

This pin is going to cost a little more at around £20, BUT that's because £5 from every sale of this pin will be going to The Trevor Project.

The Trevor Project is a USA-based charity that is a suicide prevention, non-profit organisation, actively helping vulnerable young queer people!
I chose them because I know how hard it is to be a member of the LGBT+ community in the United States right now, and how badly the government has removed support and the rights of vulnerable people.
Although I am not in the USA, I am Pansexual and Enby, and I very much know how bad it can be. The UK is having its own problems with stripping away trans rights, so I know how very important a charity like this is!

The pin is available as its own pledge and as an add-on. Once the project is over and all the pledges are processed, I will update you all with proof of the donation.  There will be a second donation if people end up buying more during the survey phase later down the line. 

Campaign: 10th March to March 24th
Production:  6-8 weeks 
The survey will come out about two weeks after the campaign. This is so I can get solid numbers on how many pins to order.

Shipping
We will be shipping internationally, including the EU. These are the estimates only, and the full shipping will be calculated and collected after the campaign in the pledge manager. 

International: £10-15
Important note to USA buyers: There will be an additional10% tariff fee. (10% of your total pledge/add-on value) This won't be applied until the very end, when we charge for shipping, which we tend to do just before we ship out the final product. If this changes at any point, we will let you know.

All pins are shipped with a tracking number, in a secure letter box, with protective tissue paper inside, to ensure it gets to you safely!
