Hey everyone! Jack here with your June update—time to unleash the news!
Who’s been a good boy? This guy. I’ve been buried in the book’s layout and fine-tuning systems as we playtest them. The campaign tools have me especially excited -- they’re really coming together! So far, testing has been limited (we’re still polishing the adventure text, so full campaign playtests are a little ways off).
Dog Eat Dog isn’t your typical Mothership module. It’s a slow burn, high-stakes scramble where the "camera" swings between a wide view of the facility and tight, tense action as players chase objectives and earn LEVERAGE --a diegetic narrative currency . This campaign is about staying under the radar, making deals with the wrong people, and taking big risks to expose Red Fern’s secrets… before it’s too late.
Here’s a sneak peek (laid out as a full spread for you) at the REHABILITATION ROUND, where the Warden reshapes the facility between cycles -- advancing NPC agendas, rolling on the Escalation Events Table, and turning up the heat.
a peak at a part of the rules lite time and prison management system
As a "valued client" (read: prisoner) of Red Fern, you’ll have to beg, borrow, and steal for every scrap of advantage.
A huge thanks for your patience and support. Cameron and I are a two-person team handling writing, art, and design, but we’re hustling to get this beast into your hands ASAP. More previews coming soon!
First off, thanks so much for your patience. March and April were marked with some unexpected family medical emergencies that required my immediate and entire attention. The good news: things are on the up-and-up, and The Panic Table and DNGN Club are back in the Dog House.
... Which is a good thing, in this instance.
Jokes aside, consider me re-committed to regular updates.
Don't worry, we brought treats- please enjoy this complimentary 7-page, utterly delightful Dog Eat Dog train heist Misadventure for Mothership RPG lovingly designed by Jack Panic himself: HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DOG
Throwin' a bone.

Chasing our tails
Work on D.E.D. has been slow but steady; I'm pleased with the state of the manuscript, and excited to observe some play tests of the main campaign. One of the most unique facets of creating the book has been expounding on the lessons we learned from filming the special mini-season. I went into creating the season of the show with the lore fully sketched out but the book yet unwritten; it was exciting to establish a new locale in our Unaccompanied Miners universe on home turf-- the ruins of Earth. Since then, the core NPCs remain familiar, but the setting has begun to take on a life of its own.
It's been exciting to watch the book to develop new flavors, adventure possibilities, and monstrosities. Next month we'll go into greater depth on cool stuff like the layout of RED FERN KENNEL CLUB and the deeply clever SIT, STAY, PLAY DEAD optional exploration mechanics we're developing.
For those of you offering kind words of support, thank you, it's been greatly appreciated.
Yours Truly, Cameron (and Jack)

So it's May now and the last update we got from what I can tell was back in February. What's going on and how is everything looking? Can we get an update and some information?
