Project Update: Pre-Update on the last leg of the dog run

Hey gang-

Pre-Update update: Great news, the PDF is nearly finished. It has nearly *doubled* in size from our original projection.  We'll be dropping that imminently, ordering books, and shipping ASAP.

Back very soon,

Cameron

Project Update: Doggy Bag Backer Survey Update

Hey Gang - worked out a kink that was preventing Doggy Bag-tier backers from upgrading their tier upon completing their surveys; they should now be able to upgrade their tier.  Please note this is not at the add-on level, but at the original pledge tier level.

Project Update: November Update

Hey y'all- short and sweet on this one. We're working on the layout, will have some progress pics on the next update. I'm in the midst of sussing out a pesky bug in the backer survey forms, then we'll start rolling those out. We're looking at beginning the shipping process in January and will keep you posted as we approach that goal.

Project Update: October Update

Update Video Message (Transcript Below)

Apologies for the link, the video embedder feature here on BackerKit just isn't working. Begin Transcript!

Hey gang,

Cameron here with a much-needed update. I wanted to apologize for leaving us hanging and thank you for some of these incredible backer kit discussion titles. After the family health scare earlier this year, I've been trying to really suck the marrow out of life, trying to run multiple projects in parallel, fulfill these backer kits, develop new shows, figure out shipping tariffs, design massive live events to run at conventions.

It's all too much at once, and instead of the marrow, I've mostly just sucked. Each of you and my sweet designer Jack have been so patient with me and I'm sorry for that.

All of which to say, I'm dropping everything else until this book is done. We've pulled out of Mothership Month '25, we're not running another Bloodfields event until next year, we're not hosting anything at PAX U.

Linked here is the manuscript for Dog Eat Dog. Humbly, I submit that it is exceptionally cool, and I look forward to your reactions and suggestions as you playtest it. We've been hard at work on the design side of things for the last month, and we'll have a fresh update soon. Again, thanks for sticking with us. My sincere apologies for how long it's taken.

Thanks for understanding. I look forward to the product that we're making you-- we will talk soon!

Project Update: JUNE UPDATE! BOY ARE MY DOGS BARKING.

Hey everyone! Jack here with your June update—time to unleash the news!

Who’s been a good boy? This guy. I’ve been buried in the book’s layout and fine-tuning systems as we playtest them. The campaign tools have me especially excited -- they’re really coming together! So far, testing has been limited (we’re still polishing the adventure text, so full campaign playtests are a little ways off).

Dog Eat Dog isn’t your typical Mothership module. It’s a slow burn, high-stakes scramble where the "camera" swings between a wide view of the facility and tight, tense action as players chase objectives and earn LEVERAGE -- a diegetic narrative currency . This campaign is about staying under the radar, making deals with the wrong people, and taking big risks to expose Red Fern’s secrets… before it’s too late.

Here’s a sneak peek (laid out as a full spread for you) at the REHABILITATION ROUND, where the Warden reshapes the facility between cycles -- advancing NPC agendas, rolling on the Escalation Events Table, and turning up the heat.
a peak at a part of the rules lite time and prison management system

As a "valued client" (read: prisoner) of Red Fern, you’ll have to beg, borrow, and steal for every scrap of advantage.

A huge thanks for your patience and support. Cameron and I are a two-person team handling writing, art, and design, but we’re hustling to get this beast into your hands ASAP. More previews coming soon!
Thanks a ton -- now, back to the grind!
