What This Is

This adventure collection is inspired by the TSR In Search of Adventure compilation, that took the modules B1-B9 and mashed them together to form several (more or less coherent) campaign arcs using those adventures.  This book aims to do something similar, presenting the town of Deepwater as a starting base along with a quintet of adventures designed as a launchpad to adventure. The five adventures are:
  • Valley of Graves, by James Holloway, in which a teenage boy goes missing.
  • Gog's Head, by DG Chapman, in which the adventurers sail to the Silver Sea and encounter a strange island, inhabited by hobgoblins.
  • The Stone Queen's Gaze, by Alex Rinehart, in which a time ship crashes in a remote jungle.
  • Curse of the Wrathful River God, by Jerod Leupold, in which a merchant hires the adventurers to explore a forgotten temple.
  • The Spire of Kroxagus, by David Donachie, in which a trapper discovers an ancient complext warded with puzzles.
The five adventures, and the setting information for Deepwater, the starting town, has all been written. I've self-financed the project as much as possible, including paying the authors fairly, but I need to raise more funds for the following:
  • Final payments to the authors. Everyone has been paid for 2/3 the contracted price.
  • Editing.
  • Cartography.
  • Art.

How it Will Look

I'm estimating this will be a 96-page book, and it will be available in three different formats:
  • PDF. Hypertext linked and bookmarked, fulfilling via Drivethrurpg
  • Print on Demand (POD). Available in both full color hard and softcover versions. The backer pays for the printing costs as well as shipping. Includes pdf.
  • Offset. A full color, hardcover book with smyth-sewn binding. Ships from the US.

I've laid out a tentative timeline for the project.
  • September-October. Project funds. As soon as we hit the funded mark I'll reach out and start commissioning the maps and get final edits over the authors.
  • October-November. Editing and Cartography.
  • November-December. Layout begins, and artists are commissioned to provide art for the project.
  • January. PDFs go out to backers. I'll give it a couple of weeks before ordering print books.
  • February. Fulfillment begins.

I don't see any real issues with this project. I've got a solid track record with meeting deadlines and fulfilling projects. Everything is written, so barring something unforeseen it should progress roughly as I've got it planned.

A selection of my titles are available as add-ons at roughly a 10% discount off of retail. All offset books are shipped from the US.
