Project Update: Secrets Revealed: Meet the Water Dragon

Hi Friend,

Yay, we just crossed over the $5000 mark and are closing in on our next stretch goal of unlocking the next dragon design! Woot!

I'm in my writing cave, but I'm popping out to share another dragon secret and this time we're looking at the Water Dragon, who I call Wassermacht.

Yes. I use a lot of German in creating my world since Teutonic and Nordic mythologies influence my storytelling. Last summer, we headed to Germany and did an entire trip so that I could do some on-location research.

My goal is always to build community. Backing this campaign and being a part of it allows you early access to these things that influence not only the art for these pins but also my book world (as I'm currently in the throes of working on a dragon-related project).

Today I thought to provide you with some background on our amazing Water Dragon.

Wassermacht: A sea-dwelling 4-legged creature with a powerful tail and sharp teeth. It “flies” through the water, but can be found on land between trips. Its name combines "Wasser" (water) with "Macht" (power). Water Element.

Wassermacht

Though this dragon can siphon energy from the ocean to assist in transformative healing, it gets its name from being able to manipulate the waters as well, being able to control water currents to create powerful whirlpools, and waves, or even form a protective barrier around itself. Coloring: Shimmering, blue & turquoise dragon. Signet: Wave crest.

Part of what makes this campaign so amazing is that we get to learn about the different types of dragons in my world. I wanted them all to be different, to have their own purpose, but also cohesively fit together.

Stay tuned as we work through all the dragons created for this campaign, and we'll create a comparative chart, too. What do you think?

Share your thoughts:

I'd love to hear from you in the comments.  Which dragon do you want to learn about next? Do you have any questions, or theories about Wassermacht or my world-building process? How do you think the different dragons will interact with each other and their world?

Sending love, light, and good vibes,
Tina Glasneck

PS: Don't forget to participate in the open polls. Let's keep the fun happening.
