Hi, just a quick update: As you may have noticed, digital versions of Prospero Protocols and any add-ons you selected have now been distributed through Backerkit.
Edit: Here's the link to the MM25 survey where you can download the digital files. Thanks to backer Levi for pointing this out to us!
There was an error with an older version of Prospero Protocols being uploaded, but this has now been resolved. If you re-download the file, you should have the latest version. You can easily tell which one is which by the colour of the covers - the new version is black and formatted for 'pages' rather than spreads.
Printing
As for the rest of the project, the pre-order store is closed and I'm just waiting to receive the numbers from TKG/BackerKit regarding how much of each item I need to send to either the US or Europe warehouses and then I can click 'send' on this massive print order.
Comments
I mostly work alone, creating every aspect of a module by myself. So if you enjoyed Prospero Protocols, please feel free to leave a comment either here on Backerkit (or anywhere basically). I really enjoy interacting with the Mothership community and having a chance to talk about the shared experience of things I've made - so any comments you leave will be muchly appreciated.
Hi everyone, welcome to the seventh monthly update. I'm pleased to announce that Prospero Protocols is finished!
Prospero Protocols cover
As a reminder, fulfilment for this project is being handled by Tuesday Knight Games. Digital versions of Prospero Protocols and any add-ons you may have ordered were submitted to TKG on 6 June.
The deadline for materials arriving at TKG warehouses has been extended to the end of August 2026. I have a test-print due to arrive today. Once the pre-order store closes next week, I'll finally have a concrete idea of numbers ordered (thank you once again for your support 🙏), and then I can send this huge order off to the printers. I can also use that couple of days to make the inevitable 'fixes' that occur upon receiving a test-print.
Artwork
I'm really happy with how the artwork turned out for this module, here's some examples below to preview:
Test-print just arrived!
I could see on the parcel tracking that the test-print was due to arrive today, so held off from posting this update so we could all see it in print for the first-time together!
Outstanding Tasks
I've listed below some of the outstanding digital content still to come, so stay tuned for future updates. My friend Leon from Beneos Battlemaps will be translating Prospero Protocols into German for us.
Prospero Protocols (German language translation)
Stretch Goal - secret objective handouts
Stretch Goal - digital map codes for companion app
Things are moving very quickly now and I’m happy to say the project is nearly finished.
As a reminder, fulfilment for this project is being handled by Tuesday Knight Games. I need to have all materials shipped to their warehouses before July 2026 and I’m happy to confirm that everything remains on schedule.
Artwork Progress
The inking for all artwork is now complete. I’ve included images below showing off some of the new art (including the cover) and I’m really happy with how they’ve turned out. Some of these started as very rough 3D mockups to help with perspective, so it’s been very satisfying seeing them fully inked. Now I just have calming and pleasant tasks of colouring them.
Printing Schedule
Assuming the module gets final approval from Tuesday Knight Games, I’ll be sending Prospero Protocols to the printers on the 1st of June. At this stage, the remaining work is mostly final layout adjustments, proofing, and preparing print files.
Surveys & Pre-Orders
Because quantities need to be locked before the print order is submitted, I’ll be asking Tuesday Knight Games to remove Prospero Protocol from the pre-order store in the next 48 hours. If you haven’t completed your survey yet, please make sure to do so before then.
Thanks again for all the support throughout this project. It’s exciting seeing everything come together.

Surveys & Pledge Manager
The big news this month is that surveys are now live, along with the Mega-Pledge Manager.
Please make sure to fill out your survey as soon as possible. I’ll need all responses finalised before sending the project to print, as quantities will be locked in at that point.
Through the Pledge Manager, you’ll also be able to pick up projects from other creators who participated in Mothership Month 2025.
Artwork Progress
I've been making lots of progress on artwork. I’ve included a GIF below showing some of the newest art. Using 3D modelling has been a huge help for the pieces that require interesting perspectives. I'm looking forward to inking these, I think they'll come out really nicely.
Barcodes
Because this is such a large collaboration of crowdfunders, all zines need to have barcodes before being sent to the TKG warehouses. Some of my previous modules that are available as add-ons didn’t include these, so I’ve sourced peelable barcode stickers that I can print myself.
I’ve been testing them by absolutely plastering a misprinted copy of Cryo-Siq with stickers and then leaving them for a couple of weeks. I want to make sure they peel off cleanly without damaging the zine underneath and this copy is like my canary in the mines.
Hi everyone, welcome to the fourth monthly update.

Colour Scheme
I'm at the stage where I need to lock-in a colour scheme for the module. I've been quite enjoying Backerkit's poll feature - so I thought it would be fun to let you, the backers, vote on the colour scheme.
Writing
I've recently discovered an excellent series of blog posts by Sam Sorensen (from OVER/UNDER) about editing your RPGs. As such, I find myself frequently revisiting the text of Prospero Protocols, making improvements. Those of you who've supported my previous work will know that this will be the biggest zine I've produced by myself, so it's easy to keep feeling like the writing isn't 'finished'.
Artwork
I'm still doing the 'rough' illustrations for the module - this takes a long time as I often have to draw multiple versions of the same image, changing it every time until I find something I'm happy with.
This project has caused me to start learning how to do 3D modelling with Blender. I don't want to replace my current art with 3D models, but rough 3D models would assist me as a guide in drawing non-standard shapes (i.e. spaceships) from interesting angles.
After I reviewed all the artwork I had in the zine, I was kind've disappointed - a lot of the things I wanted to illustrate, I didn't have the space to draw! So, I've added an additional four pages to make room for more artwork. This has pushed back progress a bit, but I think it will be worth it and we're still on schedule.
