Project Update: The Backerkit is Complete! The Next Steps

Hey guys!

We did it, nearly 1300% funded!
Thank you so much for all the support, this is going to be an excellent product!

Here's a quick reminder of the fulfillment timeline and shipping situation:

May 2025: Crowd funding campaign begins and ends
June 2025
: Backerkit Pledge Manager Surveys are sent out, early PDFs are sent out to backers
Q3 2025: Final PDFs and print copies of Crowns 2e are proofed and final edits are made
Q4 2025: Physical copies of Crowns 2e are sent out to backers

Shipping will be charged after the campaign via BackerKit. We are trying to keep shipping as low. The offset printing will take place in New Jersey, USA. Import fees and customs charges are the responsibility of the backer. We will also endeavor to provide shipping options that include tracking where possible.

Estimated shipping costs are as follows:

United States: $4
Canada: $7
United Kingdom: $12
EU: $12
US Territories and ROW: $7

Note that these are shipping estimates, based on projected book weights, and are subject to change. If you have any other questions feel free to comment below or ask them in the Discord:

New Adventure

The next first-party adventure module for Crowns 2e is Mud, Blood, and Stone. It takes place entirely in a six-mile hex, a swamp, with a village that is under the threat of bandits, a troll (as seen on the cover), and other beasties, each as part of their own faction. With the leader killed in the initial raid, the village itself is torn between two groups:
  • An ex-crusader reverend, wanting to arm the populace and fight back
  • A young cultist who wants to use the chaos and the melancholy to align the village with its ancient, pagan roots

It's available as an add-on you can pick up during your surveys next week in PDF form for $3, or print (a stable-bound zine, 24 pages long) for $7.

Future Supplements

People seemed to really be voting for new supplements as the first bit of content they'd like to see after release. Here's my plan for those:

Most of them would be one-page (front-and-back) similar to my supplements for Aketon. Right now the plan is for each to be packed with content and a little bit of flavor text from a different in-universe source. Here's some examples:
  • A Sergeant's Guide to Gunnery (flint-lock weapons, grenades, and titles)
  • A Hunstman's Guide to Rendering (a laundry list of new unique rendering options for already existing monsters)
  • An Apothecary's Guide to Herbcraft (a laundry list of new herbs, what environments they can be found in, all of which give players new options for dealing with monsters, like an herb that can be made into a jelly that, when applied to a sword, lets you deal cold damage with your attacks, giving you a boost for fighting certain monsters with that weakness, like oozes)
  • A Castellan's Guide to Siegecraft (more advanced warfare rules for those who want them)
  • A Physicker's Guide to Trauma (a ton more options for dealing critical wounds by damage type)
  • A Saint's Guide to Relics (more mundane holy relics and a few new artifact classes for holy relics)

There would also be longer form supplements for specific things. These would probably have art involved. Right now the only one's I'm thinking of are:
  • The Lesser Key of Sorcery (a book of new spells)
  • Some kind of monster book

There is no timeline on these, and there is no guarantee they'll be made soon, but these are the things I'll be noodling on after the adventure is complete. If you have any requests or ideas, throw them in the comments below, or make them yourself! I'd love to single boost any products you make.

Solo Rules

I think Crowns 2e is actually pretty well setup to be a great solo game, it just needs a little boost. The supplement I have in mind will be called Seeker, and it will be heavily integrated with the already existing region, politics, and dungeon creation systems. More on this to come.

The Towerlands

At the bottom of the priority list for now is a quick setting document. If you read Crowns 2e closely you can see that there is a setting between the pages. This would be a write-up of that, with expanded tables for backgrounds, refuges, and how the monsters fit into everything.

VTTs, Web Tools, and Partnerships

The VTTs will become a top priority later in Q3. We need the game to done and out the door before we can start worrying about getting it uploaded onto VTTs.

Web tools are up next and I am currently looking for someone to teach me how to develop them so I can keep them permanently updated with any new content. On top of that, I think it would be nice to have a Crowns 2e Adventure Look-Up type tool.

IF YOU WANT TO MAKE ADVENTURE MODULES OR RULES SUPPLEMENTS FOR CROWNS 2e, CONTACT ME ON THE DISCORD. I'll absolutely signal boost you, help you edit, layout, anything like that. You'll keep all the funds. I'm just looking to encourage greatness, help mentor new creators, and build a community.

Thank you guys so much for backing!
To be continued...
