Project Update: January update- A quick progress update on tooling

Hey everyone,
We wanted to share a short progress update and explain where things are at with tooling, as this is the most important step before we can move into full manufacturing.

Tooling is the stage where we create the physical moulds that are used to make every part of The One Dice. These moulds shape the outer shell, the internal parts, and how everything fits together. Once they are finished, they are used over and over again to make every single dice. As a result, this stage must be completed properly. There is no shortcut here.

This part takes time because it is very hands on and very precise. The moulds are made, tested, adjusted, and tested again. Samples are produced, checked, and refined until everything feels right. Small details like how parts fit, how the dice feel in the hand, how durable it is, and how consistent every unit will be are all locked in at this stage.

If something is rushed here, it can cause problems later that cannot easily be fixed. Taking the time now means the final product will be reliable, consistent, and built to last. It also means that once we move into full production, we can do so with confidence instead of crossing our fingers.

While tooling is not the most exciting stage to look at from the outside, it is one of the most important steps in the entire process. This is where The One Dice truly becomes a finished product rather than just a prototype.

TOOLING PROGRESS

These photos show real progress behind the scenes, even if it does not look flashy yet. This is the stage at which The One Dice moves from a prototype to a product that can be manufactured at scale.

The detailed steel items within the  are components of the injection mould tools, assembled to produce the complete tools. Some of the photos show a process of these tool parts being produced (ref image below) and other photos are of the finished tool cavities, used to produce the plastic form of the design.

Here the mould is inside the machine during a test run, where early sample parts are made to check fit and alignment.

This is another angle of the mould halves, showing how the parts will sit and release cleanly during production.

These cavities show where the dice parts will form, with the surfaces smoothed and checked for consistency.

This shows one half of the mould being machined, where the core shapes that form the dice parts are cut into solid metal.

This image shows a more refined mould section, where the main cavities are already shaped and being fine tuned.

The finished tools shown will be loaded into the injection moulding machines and used to manufacture all plastic and TPE elastomer components of the One Dice and Charging Case. You can see one of the tools fitted into an injection moulding machine, with some plastic parts still in situ.

This photo shows the mould installed in the production press, where pressure and alignment are tested before full production.

These metal blocks are the outer sections of the mould, which hold everything firmly in place while parts are being formed.

On the survey side, we are currently preparing everything behind the scenes. Surveys will be sent out in the next two to three weeks, so please keep an eye out for them. Our main focus at the moment is ensuring the tooling and manufacturing setup is completed correctly before we proceed to the next steps.

As always, thank you for your patience and continued support. We will keep you updated as we move forward.

Project Update: A quick thank you and Merry Christmass

Hey everyone. Hope you are all doing great. We just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for all the support so far, and to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We really appreciate everyone who has backed, commented, shared ideas, or simply followed along.

Things have been a little quiet on the update side lately, and that’s mostly because there hasn’t been anything flashy to show. The main thing happening right now is that tooling started at the end of November. That’s a big step, and it’s something that needs to be done carefully before manufacturing and full production can begin next year.

At the moment it’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work. Testing, refining, checking details, and making sure everything is right. It’s not very exciting to look at, but it’s an important part of getting the final product right.

Thanks again for the patience and support. We’ll share more as soon as there’s something meaningful to show. Wishing you all a great end to the year. 🎄🎲

Project Update: 🥂 THANK YOU The Journey Has Only Just Begun 🎲

We did it. Together.

Over 2,000 Dicebearers joined this adventure, helping The One Dice raise more than £400,000 in an incredible campaign that still doesn’t feel real. From the first reveal to the final Witch animation, every single backer, comment, and share helped shape what The One Dice has become. You made this happen  and we can’t thank you enough.

⚙️ What Happens Next
Now the real work begins the long, detailed process of turning prototypes into production.
Over the next  months, we’ll be:
  • Beginning manufacturing tooling for all internal components and materials.
  • Refining and testing multi-roll functionality, customizable LED lighting, and Bluetooth integration.
  • Expanding app systems for Quick Play Mode, Roll History, and Group Play.
  • Building compatibility for virtual tabletops like Roll20, Alchemy, and beyond.
  • Developing even more class-based and non-class animations — including themes the community voted for during the campaign (yes, that means you, Witch and Samurai fans!).
It’s a huge amount of work testing, iterating, designing, and manufacturing but that’s what this next chapter is all about.

🌠 Looking Ahead
This is a long journey, and we’re just getting started. We’ll be sharing regular updates as each milestone unfolds from early tooling shots and animation previews to app progress and behind-the-scenes glimpses.
We want you to be part of the entire process. Because The One Dice isn’t just a product it’s a collaboration between thousands of people who believed in something bold, strange, and exciting.

🎬 Final Roll
Thank you truly for being part of this. The campaign might be over, but The One Dice story is just beginning.

Project Update: 🕯️ OVERTIME MODE BEGINS SOON — The Witch’s Final Spell 🌙

The clock hit zero... but the magic didn’t stop.

Welcome to Overtime Mode where every new backer adds minutes to the countdown and keeps The One Dice alive a little longer. It’s the community’s final roll  and together, we’re writing the epilogue.
And to mark this new chapter, we’re unveiling one last animation:

🕯️ The Witch- The Final Animation Reveal

Mysterious. Mesmerizing. Power that hums beneath the surface.  A ritual of light and shadow the perfect send-off for this campaign.

But this isn’t the end. It’s just the moment between chapters.
The One Dice has now passed £400,000 and 2,000 backers  a milestone born from pure community energy.
And now, in Overtime Mode, that energy can keep flowing.

Every new backer resets the timer. Every new pledge extends the magic. And every new supporter helps make The One Dice even bigger  more features, more classes, more animations, and more possibilities post-campaign. We built this project for you for the storytellers, the dreamers, and the dice lovers who saw something different and believed in it. This is your moment to join the story. Your roll decides how long the magic lasts.

Let’s see how far Overtime can go.

Project Update: 🌌✨ FINAL HOURS — NEW ANIMATIONS REVEALED!

3 Hours Left | Campaign Ends 6 PM UK

We’re down to the final hours, and we couldn’t be more grateful.
Over  2,000 Dicebearers have joined this journey, and before the final roll lands, we’ve got one last round of reveals to share with you. This is it the final showcase of the campaign.

⏱ Introducing: Overtime Mode

SECRET REVEAL COMING IN OVER TIME MODE!
We have been working on a final anumation suprise in the past few hours.
When the campaign timer hits zero, the story doesn’t have to end. Once the campaign officially closes, Overtime Mode begins. Here’s how it works: every time a new backer joins during Overtime, the timer resets by five to ten minutes, keeping the project alive and the momentum going. It’s a community-driven extension, where each new backer literally keeps the project rolling.

Every pledge during Overtime helps unlock new possibilities, fund more animations, and accelerate the features we’ll be testing and developing post-campaign. The more the community grows in Overtime Mode, the more we can build together.

🥷 Samurai — The Way of Precision

A focused, calm energy builds before the strike. The Samurai rolls in complete silence… and then, a single flash of steel. This animation is all about restraint, mastery, and power unleashed in an instant.

🌠 Space — The Infinite Roll

A roll that feels like falling through the stars. Fragments of light and cosmic trails twist around the dice before the number materializes, glowing like a nebula.

🧙‍♂️ Class Spotlight: The Wizard

The Wizard roll embodies control over chaos  shimmering energy spirals around the die before bursting into brilliance. If you love spectacle, this one’s pure magic.

🏹 Class Spotlight: The Ranger

Sharp focus. Wild instinct. A hunter’s precision. The Ranger animation captures that moment right before the arrow flies  calm breath, quick strike.

🛡️✨ The Paladin Has Arrived — Radiant Smite Unleashed!

It’s here. One of the most-requested class animations since launch  the Paladin. ⚔️
This radiant roll lights up with golden arcs of energy and an explosive divine impact when it lands. Perfect for those table moments that really matter — the clutch saving throw, the final strike, the moment your party holds the line.

💫 What Comes Next

This campaign might be ending — but The One Dice is only just beginning.
We’re now moving into a phase of testing, feature development, and post-campaign expansion to make sure this becomes one of the most unique, creative, and fun products you’ll ever own.
There will be over 100 animations in total  and many, many more coming post-campaign.
We’ll be exploring new classes, themes, visual packs, and advanced features as we refine and expand what the die can do. Every backer now helps shape that next chapter — from new features to future updates.

🔥 More classes are already in development — including Bards, Clerics, Monks, and more!
We’ll be expanding the library throughout the next few months with brand new animations, visual styles, and updates that keep The One Dice evolving long after this campaign ends.
Every backer now helps shape that next chapter — from new classes to future app features.

🎲 The Final Roll Awaits

This campaign has been more than a launch  it’s been a collaboration between creators and thousands of backers who believed in something new. You’ve helped build the foundation of The One Dice.
Now, in these last few hours, every backer helps push us past £400,000 and into a future full of new possibilities. If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, now’s the time to roll with us.
This is it  the final three hours before the vault closes.
