Project Update: Honoring the Heart of Ultimate Toolbox

Hey everyone!

We just crossed 65K, which means we've officially unlocked our 60K stretch goal! Thank you all so much for keeping the campaign moving.

🧱 Stretch Goal Unlocked: Additional Dungeon Tiles for The Ultimate GM Screen!

⬆️ Next Stretch Goal: $70K
At $70K, we’ll add 12 brand-new pages of dungeon-themed tables to the Ultimate Toolbox.

Ultimate GM Screen - Production Update
We just got this video from our production facility - it shows off the rotating initiative trackers in action! A feature we planned early on but couldn't include in the original prototype. We’re excited to confirm that this feature is happening, and we think it makes the GM Screen even cooler and more useful at the table.

We want to take a moment to talk about someone incredibly important to the history of Ultimate Toolbox:

Honoring Jeff Ibach - Below is a message from Jim Pinto

"I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff Ibach online in the early days of 3rd Edition. I had just organized and published d20 Evil. He was not impressed, and his review said as much.

I reached out to him anyway. Through emails and conversations, we slowly realized we loved gaming at about the same degree. He gave incredible notes - thoughtful, honest, and always focused on making the book better.

And I immediately planned to ruin his gaming career.

Except I didn't. I hired him instead.

Jeff went on to write across nearly everything I worked on. Small sections at first... and then came Toolbox and Ultimate Toolbox. Books that, in truth, Jeff largely wrote, while Dawn and I assisted - organizing charts, shaping structure, and helping guide the final form.

Sadly, Jeff passed away on November 8, 2020. He was 53. Dawn called me that morning. I never got to game with him again. Never got to say thank you one more time.

That's why Dawn and I chose to remove our names from the new edition. We'd rather his book honor a man who loved gaming deeply and dedicated himself to making this hobby better.

These books were his babies."
- Jim Pinto, written late 2025

This new edition exists because of Jeff. We're proud to carry his work forward and ensure his contribution is known and remembered.
