Project FAQ
Without your survey I do not have an address or accurate counts of what you would like. If you do not answer your survey within 6 months of the end of the campaign, there are two options: if I still have said items in stock, I will send them to you. If these items are out of stock, you will receive store credit to my online store. The reason why I cannot refund your pledge after it has been collected is because all funds collected will go towards production. I personally reach out through email and messages to every backer who hasn't answered their survey multiple times before I lock all surveys for final count and kickstarter/backerkit also sends reminder emails as well. I also provide frequent updates on kickstarter/backerkit to let you know when to expect surveys and when they are sent out. In order to ensure that you are able to receive the items that you pledge, please make sure that you are checking notifications for the crowdfunding page and/or messages that you receive from me.
You can pledge first without paying! Backerkit is an all-or-nothing campaign. If you decide that you do not want the pins, you can cancel your pledge at any time before the campaign ends. Please be warned that I will not cancel any pledges or refund you after the campaign ends. You will have the opportunity during when the campaign is active for you to decide if you want the pins. Afterwards the pledge amount is collected and will go into production. Any cancellations/refunds during this time are disruptive to the timeline of these projects and will not be accepted, so please be cautious about it.
Crowdfunding backers get the first dibs and I try to prioritize sending out the best for those who backed my campaign. However, please be aware that the existing policies and grading standards still may fall under these policies and it is due to human error and human grading - please read below for further info: Please be aware that there may be slight variations between pins. I handle my pins in a grading system where if I hold my pin from an arms length and do not see any imperfections, then it is considered standard grade. Most of pin-making is done completely by hand and not done through a machine! Each color is hand-filled by those working in the factories - colors swirled, glitter mixed in, hand-polished, and each color is carefully screenprinted, and such. There's a common misconception about how much of pin making is automated or done through a machine when that is not the case at all! When I was first making my first batch of enamel pins in September 2024 I did a lot of research and watched a lot of videos and was surprised to see how much of the process was done completely by hand, including hand-filling each of those colors through a small pipe, swirling colors if needed, and screen-printing different colors one by one. I was astonished and really impressed and appreciative of what goes into enamel pin making. Enamel pins are probably the most labor intensive of my merchandise (including my plushies) and while I aim to bring the best products to my customers, I cannot go through the physical labor to judge pins too closely nor do I want to encourage scrutinizing my factories who are doing so much work on hand-making my pins for my audience to enjoy. So please be aware that I do not offer my pins at a "collector's grade". There are standard grade pins and "seconds" pins if available. While I understand and always, always try to have the best product and quality for my customers, I try to make the pin grading process fair for all parties. Standard grade pins may exhibit small minor imperfections as follows: ♥ Small or tiny specks or bubbles in enamel / paint areas ♥ Slightly varying or uneven fills ♥ Small misaligning with screen printing ♥ Small knicks or bumps on metal shapes Second grade pins may exhibit in some defects: ♥ Noticeable/deep scratches or misfilling or missing of enamel filling. ♥ Noticeable smudging on different colors. ♥ Incorrect colors or lack of screenprinting.
I think that I don't announce what is going to be a limited edition pin because the truth of the matter is that I don't actually know how well an item will sell. If an item sells out and has a higher demand, I generally try to make more of it to meet demands. However, I generally order 30~50 of each pin design to test the waters. If an item moves exceptionally slow (taking several months or even years to sell out) I will not make more just because the minimum quantity to order these are so high and I have a LOT of products but not a lot of space. As of January 2026, I think that many Mochipins (especially the Mochimon pins) will not be restocked after they sell out due to the amount of space they take and my desire to make other enamel pins. This is not a blanket statement and some designs I do see being stocked long-term, but some other products move so slowly that once they sell out I have no desire of restocking. This is often unpredictable as it changes according to my in-person schedules and online sales. I predict that any pin designs funded for Pintopia 2026 will have 50 additional quantity made and that will be for both in-person events and online stock. If you have eyes on an enamel pin design, I do suggest getting it earlier than later because enamel pins are one of the items (along with plush) that have a high minimum order quantity to restock. It's highly unlikely for me to restock most pins - especially Mochimon designs - and I end up leaning towards discontinuing them rather than reinvesting the time and space for items that I'm not personally interested in keeping long-term. I am one person who lives in a studio apartment with no bedrooms, no additional storage, and no office - and it's a constant battle to create versus having space for my own personal belongings. To note, however, I have a personal gravitation to hard enamel pins, so it's likely that hard enamel pins will have a longer longevity / run in my store due to personal preference. (For example, I see myself stocking some designs (like my Persona 5 ones) for a longer term and would re-order them if they sold out.)
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
