Shawn is an award winning fantasy artist, illustrating wildlife bonded with flora and fungi in symbiotic relationships. Her work disrupts and reallocates power dynamics between animals at the top of the natural hierarchy and organisms at the bottom of the food chain. Provoking thought about natural processes of decomposition, regrowth, renewal, and mutually beneficial relationships as a response to imbalances in human interactions. 

She explores her biracial Chinese American heritage in her Chinese Zodiac with similar pairings of animals and floral tattoos with symbolic Asian knots and the red thread of fate with heavy influence taken from anime, Asian folklore, and culture. Shawn celebrates the animal of the Lunar New Year cycle with a annual crowdfunded apparel project.
