Hello everyone and welcome to my next project: Warped Ocean 2! Launching on the 23rd of April!
I'm running this campaign as part of the Beasts & Botanicals project because it seemed like a great home for a few of the sketches I didn't manage to include in the first Warped Ocean project for Pintopia (which is currently in production). :D
I'm keeping it simple with 3 new large pins and 1 new mini pin, but if you missed Warped Ocean 1 don't worry; all of the original pins will be available as add-ons fo this campaign. Here's a first look at the outlines for the four new pins: Turtle, Moa Moa (Sunfish), Manta Ray, and a mini baby Turtle:
I'm planning on both gold-plated and rainbow-plated variants as with the orignal set and there will be matching prints and stickers as usual.
I mentioned a charm, and here's the probable design for it. It's an ephemeral pond and will be a shaker charm. So there's a little boatman and fairy shrimp in it to shake around. Plus here's a look at 2 of the other washi that will have a foil effect on them with the animals labelled. The first is a prairie with some bits from around the driftless area in the scenery. And some people might be surprised to see bison, but not only are bison native to many areas around the great lakes, despite only being found there on few reserves now, but they may be a key species to help restore the oak savannas due to their grazing behaviors.
The next scene is a marshy forest, so I've included species found in the woods as well as those like marsh wrens found in the reeds of marshy shores.
Hello bird lovers! Another design is ready to be revealed- the Blue Crowned Pigeon!
All within this series will have the same type of clasp, but due to the varying perspectives of the birds the bell addition will be different! This is a view from above as the pigeon flies. Both wings flap together when the silver chain with a bell is pulled! The tail will be a wagging attachment as well.
Some parts of this design have clear acrylic for strength such as the crest as we don't want any thin pieces breaking! Other than that though, it is full bleed. What do you think of this new bird charm? Would you prefer the pieces with the chain also have a bell up top? I am excited to share the first charm of the campaign is now physically made, the Resplendant Quetzal! Here are some photos and a GIF of it in motion.
This campaign will feature many different birds from varying perspectives- but I hope to give all of them interactable wings and tails like this one.
Additionally, by following the campaign before we launch in April, you will get a free Baltimore Oriole sticker with your backing. It is planned to have a special effect but that has not been decided on yet. This bird was actually suggested by one of you in the survey! Hi! Just want to talk a bit about the upcoming backerkit, will have more info later. But working on some kind of charm that will be available as an add-on and maybe its own reward tier. Also for anyone interested, here are the animals on the stamp washi tape I wanted to make the theme all animals that can be found in the water. I'll talk more about the animals in the other designs in future updates, but I've chosen lots of different critters native to the states and provinces around the Great Lakes.
I have set the first stretch goal as the candy apple jumping spider so as a little extra and showing that I'm a sucker for Halloween haha, may I introduce you to the pumpkin flavoured candy apple jumping spider. :P
This will be available as a variant for choice along side the default version of the current candy apple design!!
