Project Update: A stretch goal

As Thom Yorke once sang on The Tourist, the final track from the seminal 1997 release OK Computer by the Oxford, UK band Radiohead: "Hey man, slow down."

That was a whirlwind couple of days. All the MoshMo patch hunters were out in force, with the end result being that we are sitting at just short of 600 backers and just shy of 400% funded. Which is, to be frank, wild.

Things will quiet down a bit now that we’re out of the first 48 hours, so to keep things interesting, we’re going to add another stretch goal.

Hope’s Serum TV ad
If we make it to £10K — can’t actually believe I’m writing that — we’re going to create the full Hope’s Serum TV ad for you to use in-game. You can see a taster of this on the monitor in our trailer; check it out here:

This should be:

a) really cool
b) fun to show to your game group
c) an easy shortcut to teeing up the retro faux-jolly branding of creepy ol’ Hope’s Pharma.

We’re already working on a properly recorded audio version of the ad (the one used in the trailer was just recorded to my phone), so this will be a nice additional upgrade. It will be available to all backers with digital stretch goals as part of their pledge tier.

If we make it beyond £10K we’ve got one more stretchy stretcher planned which we hope will expand the zine even further — but I’ll sit on that for the time being.

In other news, our brilliant designer Norgad’s own Mothership module, Dead Weight, has just been released on his Itch store. If you like the sound of hull-breaching cadaver projectiles (and who doesn’t?), check it out. It looks cool as heck.

Oh, and (call the smooth segue police) speaking of Hull Breach, Mothership royalty Ian Yusem said of The Dose Makes the Poison: “Absolutely nails the Bioshock atmosphere. If they hadn't mentioned it as an explicit inspiration, I'd have picked it up anyway.” Beyond chuffed to get a bit of hype from the fellow who has a new 'reverse murder mystery' Shadow of Doubt released as part of the Mothership Month supply drops.

That's it, I'm done.
