Our shipping process has especially accelerated in the past week because our good friend Justin has been helping us. We’ve known Justin since he was a kid in our youth group at church, and since he’s currently in a gap semester between college and seminary, we hired him on to help us out! Justin has been a knife nut even as a kid, in fact the first time I ever forged steel was on a setup he created as a teen. So it’s really cool to have him helping us out in this capacity. Here’s the two of us making a mess of things:
i’m also excited to let you know that both the Miamiburst and Mystery Snarf arrived yesterday! I’ll let you see how Miamiburst came out since you won’t see the Mystery Snarf until it arrives on your doorstep: It’s hard to say how much longer shipping will take, but we’re 363 down and we’ve got 724 more to go. We appreciate your patience as we work to get Snarf out to you ASAP!
One thing that we do want to note on the QC side of things for those of you who already received your knife. We’ve realized that while the utility blades in the 10 pack are generally to spec, the blade installed in each Snarf was from the first run where the blades were asymmetrical. So the blade installed in your knife may only fit in one direction (with the Aurora logo positioned toward the tip of the Blade Grabbler). So if you have issues getting the blade to click into place in the opposite direction, try the blades from the 10 pack. On the off chance that those blades don’t work, definitely reach out to us because that will probably be a warranty issue with the knife itself.

Hey everyone - I just wanted to let y’all know we’ve currently shipped 10% of our 1100 Snarf orders. I had hoped to hit 20% by the end of last week but I got hit with a cold followed by a stomach bug, so that slowed us down a bit. I’m still recovering but the cold became an upper respiratory infection so that’s sapped my energy a good bit.
All that to say I’m still plugging away as much as I can, and I expect to hit 20% soon. I’ve also heard that Miamibursts and Mystery Snarfs are inbound so we’re expecting them to arrive late this week or early next.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding while Melody and I navigate these health challenges on the way to getting Snarf out to you.
Hey everyone - just wanted to give an update on how shipping is coming along!
This is our most complex shipping challenge yet - 1100+ orders, 10 colorways, and 2000+ knives to QC, label, and arrange by serial number!
To simplify matters, we decided to do our QC, labeling, and serial assignments in the same way BackerKit arranges shipping labels. That way we wouldn’t have very much time in between the printing and shipping of each label. That’s proving to be a lot more streamlined than our previous procedure of printing all the labels at once.
It also means that once you get the notification that your label has been purchased, you should be able to start tracking it within a day or so.
We estimate that by the end of this week we’ll have shipped out about 20% of our Snarf orders! That should mean we are able to hit pretty close to our goal of delivering everything by mid-September.
We’re still waiting on the accents, Miamiburst, and Mystery Snarfs which I was just told today have been pushed back towards the end of August. But we’ve got plenty to ship in the meantime, so we’ll focus on that while waiting for the others to arrive.
Thanks everyone for your concerns and prayers for Melody. She’s definitely having a rough go at it right now health-wise, but the kids and I are trying to be there for her and encourage her. She’s one tough cookie so I know she’ll get past this, but I do hate to see her unable to do so many of the things she enjoys (which strangely includes QC and shipping!🤣)

Hey everyone! I’m excited to announce that we will start shipping Snarfs tomorrow!
With over 1,100 orders, this is our biggest order to date, so we aren’t sure exactly how long it will take to ship everyone’s order. We’re starting with the items we have while we wait on Miamiburst, Mystery Snarf, and anodized accents. We’ll also hold Bluewashed and Purplewashed orders for a couple of days in case those backers want to switch.
I’m also hosting a live tonight at 7:30 CST on our YouTube channel to share the first sneak peek at our newest preorder, “Funkenstein!” I’m so stoked to share it and get feedback from our current backers.

Hey everyone - I've initiated the lock addresses function so if you need to change your shipping address before we ship you can follow the link it just sent you via email. Make sure to do that soon, because we'll start printing shipping labels soon.

Thanks to everyone who caught the typo on the earlier message regarding the colorways. I had accidentally labeled the purple "Moonburst" variant "Miamiburst." The images below show that corrected. We're still waiting on Miamiburst, so that's why the colorway is currently blurred.
The knives that look the most different from what we ordered are the bluewashed and purplewashed titanium variants. We ordered a more muted, darker tone of each knife but we received a lighter shade of both. They both look great, in fact some folks that didn't order a color may prefer those, but It's just not what was advertised.
I'll be sending out an email to all our backers that bought the bluewashed and purplewashed to make sure they notice the change and are able to get in touch with [email protected] if they want to make a change. And if you didn't order a bluewashed or purplewashed Snarf but want one now, you can make that change by reaching out to [email protected] as well.

Plus, I couldn't resist sneaking in a version of Snarf that matches the milling on Truffles and HiveMind, so if you have either of those knives and want to be matchy-matchy you can either swap or add Smoove Satin Ti to your order! Oh, and no, Smoove Satin Ti is NOT the Mystery Snarf! 🤘🤣

Carried my snarf today for the first time. Ended up just needing it for some drywall work, so nothing too demanding. But he worked perfect! I think I spent more time fidgeting with it than actually cutting. Lol.
My red G10 Snarf did have the mis-cut blade installed. I’d recommend everyone to test that their blade locks in before flicking it open too many times.
Lastly, I'm not sure if I just missed reading it somewhere, but there’s a baggy with spare parts. What are the spring, washers, and extra bearings for?
