We will be moving to a new house this week so shipments will begin again starting the second or third week of September. It was kind of a surprise so my apologies for not previously accounting for this in shipping ETAs, so please review the current estimates below. 🔧Beetle Beret - After reading your comments and suggestions, we are doing one more sample to see if we can really nail down the shape/structure while still having the embroidery we like. Hey everyone! Quick update to talk about the latest samples for the acorn weevil and beetle beret since we’d love to know your opinions: We are now on the 5th iteration of the acorn weevil and I think this is the closest to the original concept artwork we can get color-wise. I know some of you had differing opinions on which one was the best, so including the latest version which sample would you like us to produce? (1 would have the eyes corrected if that was the most voted). I’ve attached the poll to this update but feel free to comment as well if you have more thoughts!
Next, the beetle beret: We just had this new beret sample produced with an alternative manufacturer. While it does appear to hold its shape much better, I’d prefer if the fabric was the same for the body and pinchers + I’d want the embroidery like the original sample. I asked if we could see it worn as well to confirm it doesn’t wrinkle up like the first, but they shipped it to us beforehand they got the chance to and we haven’t received the package despite it saying delivered. :,) So there will be an extended delay as we need another sample made.
How are we feeling about this new sample compared to the first? What are your preferences for this design? We’re going to start manufacturing ASAP just as soon as we are happy with the sample, so thank you for your patience!
As far as order fulfillment goes, admittedly we are a bit behind but trying our best to catch up this weekend. There should be a fulfillment update posted at the end of next week! Item status are the same as our previous update, so you can check our last one if you needed to know when an item will be ready to ship. We are trying to get at least 100-200 orders out every week so make sure your address is correct if your order is ready to fulfill! There's also a decent chunk of you who have never completed your survey or filled out your address, so please check your emails or shoot us a message if you're unable to find it. Hello all! We apologize for the late update! Thank you all for being so patient, as always, we’re excited to show you some samples that have come in! Shipping for the campaign may be delayed due to recent global economic instability effecting freight shipping;our current estimate is a two month delay. We deeply apologize for the lack of updates. We had to rearrange the budget a bit because of the price changes. We also wanted to wait out the instability, so we could make an update that had a definite shipping timeline. However, at this point we feel it’s better to post more regular updates, and be transparent that our fulfillment timeline is now not a hard deadline. We will be updating if there are any more changes to fulfillment, but thankfully as of now it’s only a two month delay.
That being said, most of our samples came in better than expected! Manufacturing for Coconut beetle, Goliath beetle, Hercules beetle, and Japanese rhino beetle are finished! The bags are now on their way and will get to us in one month! Onto the samples!

In the next 2 weeks, the surveys will be sent out to your emails! The surveys will collect your shipping address, let you add new items to your order, change your pledge level, and select your items of choice. Shipping for your order will also be calculated, however it will not be charged until we are 1 month from fulfilling orders! Stay tuned to updates + refer to the shipping timeline chart in the campaign story to know when that will be.
What if the item I want does not have a sample yet?
No worries! The surveys will stay opened until all samples have been completed and shared in new updates. That way, you can make an informed decision on what items you’d like to get in your order! All items unlocked during the campaign are currently getting samples produced and will continue for the next month or so (depending on how many revisions are needed.)
When does the bulk production start?
Bulk production will start once surveys lock so we can know how many of each item to order! Please follow along with updates and don’t forget to take the survey, as a late submission may result in us having to refund your order if we did not produce enough of an item.
What if I move before shipping/fulfillment begins?
No worries! You can always email us [email protected] after surveys lock and we will make sure that is corrected for you. Please take the surveys as soon as you can, you can put your current address if you need but this is how we will know how much stock to order so it’s best to take it early!
When does shipping begin/when will I get my order?
We are estimating shipping to begin in March 2026 and continue through April 2026! Please keep in mind this is subject to change, as we are currently a team of only 2 people and this is the most backers we’ve ever had. If there are delays in an item’s production, we will also make an update to let you know the status + new estimates of shipping times.
I know a lot of you are completely new to Backerkit, so hopefully this can cover some of the frequently asked questions to new backers. Thank you so much to everyone who supported, this has been our biggest collection yet and some of the coolest stuff we’ve had the chance to produce so far!! 🪲🎉
Centipede sling bag has won the poll, and will now be available to get as a pledge tier or add-on!!
This plush will be quite large, comparable to our giant millipede plushie. The straps are planned to be removable just like the beetle bags. The sample will now be put into production, I hope we are able to share some pictures with you soon!! (Est. 2-3 weeks or more)
