Project Update: New Softcovers/ The Plan.
After some positive words from many of you, amazing amounts of encouragement, and a community that truly defies the norm on the interwebs, we have a plan on how to proceed.
Most of you said "Hey Bill, you're making way too big of a deal about this, the softcover looks great and that black box behind the Shadowdark RPG 3rd Party License logo is not a problem for me." I super appreciate this take. As a designer who wants every detail to be near perfect, or as perfect as it can be, I nitpick my own work and strive to make sure everything is excellent for all of you. The contents of Righteous Vow: Volume 2 are exactly as I had hoped. And everything inside the cover gets me very excited. Because an entire campaigns worth of adventuring is ready for everyone inside of this zine. I'm over the moon with the artwork that Andrew, Uriah, and DeWayne put together, the writing (hey go me!), the editing that Wayne and Laurie worked hard on, all of it shines. It's just a little silly black box that is getting me down.
But! let's cut to the chase here: We have a plan.
Everyone who backed has three options before them. Each one is great, and no questions will be asked on any one you choose to select. I appreciate everyone who backed. And I want to be sure to deliver exactly what everyone paid for. So. Let me know what you'd like to do. Here they are...
1) The cover doesn't bother me. I'm good. In this case you will keep the "special edition variant" softcover version and enjoy the awesome zine within. Nothing needs to be done.
2) The cover isn't a big deal, but I'd like a new one without the error. I can add it to a new order later when I'm getting other books on DriveThruRPG. This one is my favorite option. Because it helps get you a second book that has an "error free"cover. And lets you print the new version at-cost to add to an order down the road. The second copy you receive can be given to a friend or kept as a collectible.
3) I paid for shipping already, and I'd like a new version sent to me without the error please. It is absolutely within your right, and everyone's right to receive the book they paid to have printed without the error. This option is perfectly fine too, and I will send you a new, completely immaculate copy of the softcover, free of any charges.
For options 2 or 3, please just email me at [email protected] and I will make sure to get you the discount for your at-cost print, OR include your address with your email for Option 3 and I will send you a new copy once they are printed and in my hands.
Thank you everyone for the opportunity to fix this minor error. I want to give the best possible service to anyone who purchases content from Crawl Club Publishing LLC. Many of you have asked "why did you even bring this up, we wouldn't have probably noticed!" And for many of you that might be true. But I also want you to all get the best version of the book you can. The time is always right to do what is right. So please do reach out if you would like a new one. I'll make it so! Have an excellent week. Talk to you all soon!
