Project Update: Production update - The Tariff Effect
Dear backers!
Nevyn here with a not-so-fun update for you, some good news and some bad. The good news is that we got confirmation that the production of Little Wolves books is complete and they're ready to be shipped!
The bad news is that they're not being shipped yet. We've been discussing the unpredictability of customs with our manufacturing partners Print Ninja, and we agree that it's simply not a good idea to put our books on a boat right now.
In case you don't know, tariffs are charged when products arrive at port and they are paid by the importer (us), not by the country who sends the items.
Books, under some classifications, are safe for now (as this is being written), but with rules changing hour by hour we can't risk taking on a massive price hike we could not have imagined when we carefully budgeted for this project last year. There's a possibility that these increasing retaliations might even halt international shipments entirely.
The truth is our hostile and ignorant administration has flamed a trade war with no consideration for harming it's own American-side businesses and industry. We don't have much of a choice but to do what we can to protect the hard work that went into these books.
In spite of these delays I hope you all understand and make time to support small businesses as we weather this storm.
