Project Update: Other Projects You Might Love (+ Voting on Chapter Two)

Hey everyone! Nora Again!!

Despair Dilemma isn't just crowdfunding on it's own - we're a part of an extremely exciting collaboration called "Pocketopia" that combines a massive number of exciting tabletop projects focusing on projects you can play easily and right out of the box! Given how well we've done with the campaign, we wanted to give back and show off some projects from other creators that you could be interesting if you're supporting Despair Dilemma!

It Lurks Inside: A Solo Facility Escape Game

As two projects based primarily on a horror video game genre, It Lurks Inside is actually collaborating with us to give a bonus to people who back both projects! From us, you'll get the Perspective Marker we included as an Add-On for FREE! And from them, you'll get a similar coin that can be used for the same purpose!

The game itself is a Solo TTRPG themed around surviving the horrifying monsters you've been locked inside this facility with. You'll recognize similarities to games like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, System Shock and other survival horror classics! If the solo rules we unlocked for Despair Dilemma excite you, then It Lurks Inside will 100% be up your alley!

Why We Fight: A Solarpunk Narrative TTRPG

Are your favorite Death Game stories the ones where people become the revolutionaries fighting against an unfair society? Hunger Games or Maze Runner? Then you'll love Why We Fight. With solo and cooperative game modes, you can play with both a Quick-Play and Campaign mode to fit your needs. If you've played the Despair Dilemma demo, then the fun of giving different characters and locations facts will be familiar to you! The game is aggressively queer and anti-fascist at that, something I think a lot of us need these days.

Soul Cemetery: Survival Horror Reinvented

Soul Cemetery is a Solo TTRPG that doesn't just replicate a horror video game, but the horror stories people tell about video games. Think about the creepypasta's that come to mind when you imagine coming back to a game you left for a reason you can't remember anymore. This game captures those feelings of unease with a haunting experience. I highly recommend it!

SHIFTED: Social Deduction Remixed

If you like the aesthetics of Despair Dilemma, then you'll love how SHIFTED looks. If you joined us for the Pocketopia Showcase Streams we hosted a few weeks back, then you've already seen SHIFTED. It's a wallet sized social deduction game with a brilliantly bold style and very tight mechanics. If your a fan of social deduction games, then there's a good chance this game is for you.

And More!

I've chosen to mostly highlight projects that directly overlap with Despair Dilemma in one way or another, but there's a lot to love in Pocketopia if you love games. No matter what excites you, there's something to be excited about. There's only four days left, so here's some wildly different to get you started:
  • FoxyDeck: An adorable playing card deck water-colored by kids
  • A Land Once Magic: A pocketsized world-building TTRPG with a fantasy theme
  • Super Battle Mon: A cute little Monster Collector TCG playable without a table

Voting on Chapter Two of the Purgatory Express!

Finally, while we have you here - We've collected the answers for Chapter Two of the Purgatory Express and set up a poll! Note that similar to last time, we've combined a few answers that had similar concepts and have shortened answers to fit with the space constraints of BackerKit's polls.

We only have a couple days left, so we need to speed up if we want to get Chapter Three done soon. To help with this, we've reduced the amount of time you'll have to vote in this poll, so be sure to get to it as soon as possible!

We'll be adding the top two results as different options for Chapter Two, so vote for the one you like best!
