The Big Question - I've been asked more than once about the setting itself and how much "war" is involved. The short answer is as much or little as you want. Hell in a Hog Waller is a wartime setting. Think of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Redwall, Indiana Jones; all of these stories take place during a time of war, but they focus mainly on the adventures of small groups and how those adventures help turn the tides one way or the other of the bigger background war.

Hell in a Hog Waller is not a crunchy wargame of tracking troop movement and ammunition. It is a place to set your adventures in where there is plenty of room to roam and adventure, and the missions you choose will have the ability to impact how the war is going through the simple War is Hex rules. And if the group wants to take a break from the trenches, there is a whole world outside The Forgotten Field where The Many Hungry Mouths aren't plotting.

But also if you want to play out full battle scenes Mausritter's warband rules are perfect for this.

Actual Play - we are putting the finishing touches on an actual play recording ran by professional GM Paul Zinke from Heart of the Tale and should have that posted soon. We had a group of 5 players new to Mausritter run through the opening scenes of the included funnel adventure Operation Gate Latch. This video is a great way to learn about and see in action the world we are presenting in Hell in a Hog Waller. Paul also does a great job of teaching how to run Mausritter in general and is a useful tool for new GMs or players.

We will send an update when the video gets posted.

New Art Preview - a few new map pieces I completed this week for something fun to look at.

Early-mouse Incentive - free zine- everyone who backs at the digital or physical tier will get an updated PDF version of our first Mausritter zine Chimneyhaus. New content will tie together the active McRheetz dairy farm to its distant neighbor The Forgotten Field.

Chimneyhaus is a 13 page zine that includes a a cheese and beer making community of mice in the unused chimney stack of the farmhouse, 9 new factions, 7 new creatures, 2 new conditions, 6 new spells, 4 adventure sites, dozens of locations & encounters, and a hex map and beautiful art.

Cross-collab - We have teamed up with M. Allen Hall's campaign The Baron's Grip to add even more space to adventure. Now the forest of Willowshade and its tyrannical badger ruler Baron Marfont lies to the north west of The Forgotten Field.

If you back both this campaign and the The Baron's Grip, you will receive an additional supplement - a collaboration between Fey Light Studio and M. Allen Hall.

The bonus supplement will be an A5 leaflet detailing how to entangle these two campaign settings. By planting rumors, items, and NPCs from one campaign into the other, you can lead your players through an expansive campaign that adds the resistance fighters of Boroden to the pitched combat of The Forgotten Field, or bring war refugees from Hedgerton to the fight against the oppression of The Baron.
