Project Update: Campaign Timeline, Sticker Votes and Sketches!
Hi friends,
On Thursday the project was funded with a final count of 68 Backers pledging 4,738 €, unlocking all stretch goals! I‘ve taken the weekend to relax and plan and am ready to completely immerse myself in the designing and illustration process now. Timeline
October
I want to publish the pledge manager at the end of October. The pledge manager is where you choose which designs to receive, provide your address and pay for shipping. It is also the last chance to add more add-ons to your pledge at Campaign prices - including the Japan Booster Pack, which is only available for backers.
I want you all to have as much information as possible when you make that choice. This is why I want to complete the following things before the pledge manager goes live
- illustrate at least 2 animals from every booster pack (11/24 packs)
- Complete the designs for all 10 biome keychains (2/10)
- Finalise which animals are featured on posters and sticker sheets
- Sketch all Vinyl Sticker Designs (don‘t forget to vote!)
- Finalise all lanyard designs (DONE)
- Finalise the Stamp Washi Tape (DONE)
I have finished just over a fifth of all 175 animal charms and am currently tackling the „hardest“ biome - for me: the city! As you might imagine, I don‘t really draw a lot of inorganic things so everything from perspective, to colour choice, to lighting is giving me trouble (backers: check out my development sketches below!).
At the same time I‘ll order samples, checking for size, readability and colour adjustments. Of course, as soon as I‘ve ordered and received the samples I will share them with you! I am planning to order samples of 2-3 keychain designs and at least 20 charms (including holo charms).
November
You will have about 2-3 weeks to complete the pledge manager, during which I will finish all designs and print files and make adjustments based on the samples. In mid-November I am ordering all designs. While I wait for production to complete I am going to finalise and print all the packaging.
December
It will take about 4-6 weeks for all products to arrive, so I should get them just before Christmas. I am going to use the holidays to do a thorough quality check of all products. This is when addresses lock and can no longer be changed, because in…
January
…Fulfilment will be finished! Depending on when the products arrive, whether there are quality issues and how long it will take to put everything into cute packaging, shipping is going to start as early as late December, but should pick up and be completed in the first two weeks of January - exciting!
I am honestly looking forward to the whole process and will update you regularly throughout. Until the end of October you can expect an update every week, after that every 1 or 2 weeks depending on how much is happening.
