A fully illustrated 78 set of metal Tarot coins based on the Rider Waite Smith Tarot set, available in a variety of colors. Upgrade your reflections, fortune telling, and tarot readings from cards to coins, and add elegance to your divination sessions!
After years of helping creators illustrate and publish their decks, as well as developing two decks of our own (the official Last Unicorn Tarot and Neopets Tarot decks, we're back to introduce something new for the Tarot community.
Introducing Tarot Coins, a metallic "deck" of coins modeled after the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot set, one of the most well known Tarot styles, reimagined as a set of beautiful metal coins. We've been working on the idea for the past eight years (while designing the Last Unicorn deck), and have been developing it ever since to be ready for the world.
What is Tarot?
Used for divination and fortune-telling purposes, as well as a medium for self-reflection, self-exploration, and self-discovery, Tarot is the using of a set of themed cards to look for answers to questions you might have. Through the drawing of cards and interpreting meaning, the cards help the reader reflect what might be influencing the things surrounding the query.
Originally developed in Europe in the 15th century as a deck of cards, Tarot decks became a widespread tool for divination, meditation, and entertainment. On their own, they tell a story of the journey of self-growth and actualization, while also helping to give context and understanding to queries when used as a divination tool. They've had widespread popularity and spawned a variety of themed tarot and oracle decks tailored to the passions and interests of a number of communities.
Why Tarot Coins?
Metal is an incredible medium, and one of our favorite materials to work with. Strong, durable, and tactile, it weathers the centuries, it warms to the touch, and clinks pleasantly against other coins. Metaphysically, metals are often conductors and receivers of energy: channeling, storing, and transmitting energy put into them, making them an excellent medium for picking up on the energy of the querent during readings, as well as attuning to the spiritual realm to bring its messages to the physical world. Metals are used for radio receivers and transmitters, to carry power across the land, and to form circuits, as well as creating the structural elements for virtually everything in our daily lives in some form or another.
Coins have been in use for thousands of years since mankind first learned to extract metals from ores, and have been used as a placeholder and exchange of value, a symbol of wealth, and a universal form of communication. They last for centuries, and maintain their shape and beauty despite constant handling. Coins are both ancient, and contemporary.
Tarot coins are the next evolution in the Tarot toolset. Shuffling your coins becomes a sensory delight, stirring through the bag to select the coin that speaks to you most in the moment. Handling your coins, bonding with them, and using them frequently leaves energetic impressions in metal that paper-based cards can't compare to.
How do I use Tarot coins?
It's quite easy! There are a variety of methods of using coins to answer your questions, from drawing a single coin to reflect upon its meaning, to doing a full spread (for example, a Celtic Cross style) reading to look at overarching influences and what might be impacting past, present, and future. Users typically hold their coins while picturing a question in their minds to energize the coins with intent and help the coins to speak back.
Coins can be shuffled or raked around to pull one at random or to find one that feels energetically significant. The accompanying guidebook included with the set can be used to help interpret the symbolism of the imagery and the meaning of the coin to help give nuance and context to your question.
When you are finished with your reading, simply replace the coins in the holder and store them for your next use.

The BackerKit campaign serves to open the project up for initial preorders and to offer bonuses for people getting in at the ground level. There are a number of stretch goals that will unlock as pledges come in, some of which are purchasable add-ons, others of which are upgrades to existing tiers (guide books upgrading from paperback to leatherbound, for instance).
Pay Over Time is available for backers wanting to get in on the initial campaign. Pay Over Time allows you to split your pledge into multiple payments over a set period. Your card will be charged according to the payment schedule (four monthly payments).
Campaign Phase - 30 Days (Feb 3 through Mar 3, 2026) Pledge Manager Phase - 4-6 Months (Mar 3 through Sept, 2026) Shipping Phase - 30 Days (Sept -Oct 2026)
The campaign will run through the beginning of March. Funds will be collected over the following ten days (at which point missed pledges will drop from the campaign). The Pledge Manager phase will enable you to customize your pledge levels, allowing you to purchase add-ons, select choices on your sets, update your address, and more. While this is happening, we will be hard at work with production, getting the molds made, the coins cast and plated, and getting everything prepared.
Once all the sets are completed, we will begin the shipping phase, locking orders and picking and packing according to each person's specific orders.
We will be providing regular updates along the way with progress (usually monthly), and we are happy to answer any questions along the way.
We've done extensive work getting these coins into their perfect form. We've chosen an octagonal design to make them easy to handle, disinclined to roll, and most importantly, for their geometric ability to link together side by side and into grid shapes and patterns. Having well defined angles means that you can easily tell if you've drawn a coin as an inversion, and the size and shape ensures they stack and store readily.
Most of the artwork is done, and each coin is undergoing testing to make sure the design works well in coin form. We have done several generations of coin revisions to ensure good hand feel, durability, and size, while ensuring that the profiles are 3D in contour without making the coins no longer sit flush. We go through a comprehensive design and research phase from the original Rider Waite Smith illustration to re-design it for optimal coin compatibility.
The final result is a coin that is itself a work of art. When put together into a full set, the Tarot Coins are breathtaking in their splendor, and we don't cut corners with regards to quality.
The main attraction is a full set of 78 illustrated and cast metal coins, plated in a variety of available finishes. Each coin is illustrated - we don't do pip decks here!

We've spent the last several years working hard on this project to bring it fruition, researching existing tarot methods, delving into the symbolism and meanings behind the cards, and how to enhance them and bring something new to the table. This project has some challenges associated with it, and we have every confidence that we can do right by the community.
Unforeseen circumstances can easily lead to delays and creating projects from scratch is no picnic. Having handled production and fulfillment for a wide number of companies (including quite a number of Kickstarters), we're fully cognizant of the hurdles and challenges of a project of this scope, from production slowdowns to customs delays. We've encountered many pitfalls and have the expertise to avoid them.
We are working with a trusted manufacturer to help us with this project and we have worked closely through each phase of our testing and iterating. Interestingly, one of our biggest challenges is in the weight of this product - each coin weighs approximately 34g , which means a full set of weighs about 2.6kg (about 6.5 pounds), and making sure we engineer all of the packaging and shipping to accommodate and account for the weight of small but dense coins is an interesting consideration, and one we have worked hard to account for.
We look forward to serving the Tarot community as a whole, and are excited to bringing this project to life!
We aim to create a welcoming community and campaign for first-timers and die-hard enthusiasts alike. We all share a passion for Tarot and for making the world a more fun, interesting, and inclusive place. We also take seriously the challenge of creating and maintaining an inclusive space; we expect backers to show respect to the other members of the community (and to the campaign staff). Failure to show good conduct will result in your removal as a backer from the project, which may or may not be accompanied by a refund of your pledge.
Think before posting and think carefully about how what you're saying might read to someone who isn't you. Derogatory or hurtful comments, jokes, and discourse drive off people who would otherwise be a great part of our community. Be kind to one another, and let's make this campaign epic!
We wouldn't be here without the involvement, participation, and feedback of the Tarot community at large, and creating two previous Tarot decks has given us a wealth of insight and ideas into the needs of the Tarot community. We also want your opinions! We welcome the feedback, comments, and questions of the community - please feel free to ask about anything you'd like to know; this project is built for you! We will have a number of challenges and goals linked to community involvement, details to be announced.
We highly encourage you to share, post, and involve people you think might be interested in this project to help it be the best it can be!
