Project Update: Metal Connectors
Full Bundles or people who have them selected as Add-Ons will be given the choice of finish when selecting their coin set choice in the Pledge Manager phase.
More treasure for your set!
Do you want the same image on the front as the one the back? The same image reversed? Or a universal border image for the back on all of them, designed so that you can't tell on one side what design the coin is?
Project Update: Update #4 - Nuance Tokens!
Some of the work in progress concepts of the Nuance tokens (also called chits or Nuances).
The octagonal shape of the coins naturally creates square and triangular gaps that the Nuance tokens fill, allowing you to draw some additional insight from the space in between. The two directions we're exploring with them right now is to have them be
a) thematic, with words or concepts like:
Opposition
Strong / Greater influence
Weak / Lesser influence
Time
Caution
Transformation
Depth
Conflict
Bonds
Hope / Courage / Steadfastness
Or b) to have them be more astrological in nature and look for governing influences that way.
We've been working on the concept for awhile, and would happily hear input on how you might consider using them. They are not mandatory for your readings, but make a nice addition through including a touch of Nuance to your draws. Congratulations to everyone for unlocking them as an Add-On, and the Full Bundles will include them naturally as well now! Thank you to everyone for hitting such a neat new stretch goal, and for supporting the project!
Reminder to share and repost the campaign far and wide - we've still got some awesome stretch goals ahead to unlock, and we can only get the word out there with your help!
We'll probably reach the Personalized Coin level, but do you guys have any thoughts or suggestions for anything beyond that level if the campaign goes wild in the next few weeks?
Engaged with this project 20+ times 🌟
Over the past few years, I've searched online for tarot coins (or tarot tiles) to use in my readings and add to my collection. There were some options out there, but nothing that ever really spoke to me or seemed "right." I found some coins, usually round in shape, but often with simple symbols on them representing the major and minor arcana, literally like a number 3 and a picture of a sword, or a knight helmet next to a wand. Plain, flat backs made them cheap looking, like metal slugs. Another set featured better images but the round coins were "blah" looking and very expensive, with all the add-ons being pricey too. There was a set that was copper in a rectangular shape, but again the images were interpretations of the tarot images, not true to the Rider-Waite-Smith (RWS) artwork that I prefer. Tarot tiles were another option I considered. Some were made by applying miniature pictures of RWS cards onto wooden tiles and sealed with lacquer or resin. Others were made in a similar way but using plastic dominoes or mahjong tiles. Also very expensive. That's why I backed this Geekify project so quickly. I could immediately see all the thought and attention that went into designing this set and all the add-ons. Mainly the shape - perfect in the way the coins can fit next to each other, forming any number of interesting spreads! The details in the design make them so rich looking. Considering the quality and intricacies, the cost is very reasonable and a great investment. I'm seriously considering upgrading to the full bundle since this set is damn near perfect! Thank you, Geekify!
