Here's a quick update on the Dungeon Denizens 2 project. In short, we are in the stage of printing that is called "file review." We have sent the book files to the printer. They are analyzing and assessing, and asking us to make minor revisions. Most of this has to do with image specs and text wraps. Once all the digital files are validated, we get into physical sample review.
As a brief example, here is a recent email that we received outlining various to-do's for this phase of file review:
We've sent back our list of revisions, then the printer will review those, and so on and so forth. Also part of this process is finalizing the covers. The "front cover" is always easy... it's the "spine" that is complicated. Depending where the final layout lands, the difference in page count between 256 pages and 272 pages on a book means a fraction of a millimeter in the spine width, which means we have to adjust all the cover files again.
All this is to say, long story short, that we're in the very beginning of the printing process! It will likely be a few more weeks before we start to see physical samples. Once we get to that stage we'll be sure to share them with you. In the meantime, this digital review ensures that the final printed product will be of the highest quality.
