Hello, backers.

The Diamond bankruptcy continues to be a huge headache for us. September wasn’t notable for what happened but what didn’t. The judge in the case pushed back ruling yet again. Even the parts we thought could be quickly resolved have not. At this point, I am not comfortable sending the Fifth Season to print until we at least have new book trade representation.

To print in the most cost-effective way possible, we need to do a single print run that will cover the fulfilment of this crowdfunder and further sales through the hobby and book trades. Doing a smaller run now and another one later is not practical. The more books you print at once, the more the cost per unit comes down. Two smaller print runs is always worse than one bigger one. We could just guess what we’ll need for the book trade, but that’s a dangerous game I’d rather not play right now.

I apologize for these turns of events. I am hoping something will turn our way in October.
