Hello, backers.

The Diamond bankruptcy case continues to drag out. The Ad Hoc Committee of Consigners (the group of thirteen companies we are part of in this case) has exchanged more proposed settlements with Diamond. The response was better than last month, but we have yet to achieve, as my sophomore English teacher would say, a meeting of the minds. Our next hearing with the judge is next week. I would like to see the result before deciding our next course of action. What we’d like to happen is that the judge makes a ruling one way or the other. He has proved reluctant to do so, obviously hoping that we’ll work it out among ourselves. Since we’ve yet to reach an agreement acceptable to the committee, maybe he’ll finally rule and we’ll get our property back and the money owed to us. If he kicks the case into next year, the committee is going to be angry. The longer this drags out, the more we will pay for our legal defense. I will let you know how things go.
