Time for another bi-weekly update. I genuinely enjoy sharing the details and more samples with you all! Here are bullet points on where we are--I find bullets helpful to get the info at a glance:
Writing: Andrew expects to finish the core writing this weekend of the last deck (High Seas). We do have our handful of bonus cards to finish in that deck and the Otherworldly* deck. We expect to finish those next week.
Art: The High Seas deck has about 10 pieces left to be done. But our artists are continuing to progress--see below. I expect these to be done in two weeks in time for our next update.
Editing: Our editor has finished editing two of the decks and is working on the third. And he'll be ready to go on the final two decks as we finish them next week. If we get them to him next week I expect him to finish around the time of the next update.
Hex Tiles: We've been focused on the decks, so as writing those wraps next week, we'll switch back to working on them.
Short version: We're driving to have the PDFs (And the Hex Digital files) to you around the time of the next update in two weeks. And then I'd like to give you all about a week with the files to see if we've overlooked anything--major typos, etc. We'll post corrections to the PDFs after getting your feedback. Then they will go off to the printer so you'll have them maybe in late June, but more likely July.
The Otherworldly Domains deck might get renamed--this deck's title has gone through a bunch of changes throughout the project because we weren't quite sure how the focus would turn out. I was envisioning it as extra-planar places, locations run by a mad wizard, traveled to via the Aether, etc. But somehow it sort of morphed into weird places, but still in a fantasy world. The working title at the moment is now "Stranger Places" but still pondering that. (Yeah, my kids loved Stranger Things when it came out--looking forward to season 5 later this year.) I'd like to save the extra-planar idea for another deck down the line if these others go well--part of the issue is the art would be significantly more expensive.
Back to the big picture. To make all of this work, expect the pledge manager to go live before the next update. The exact date depends on how the other tasks are going and some BackerKit policies--they don't like pledge managers to start on a weekend or even on a Friday, etc.
And now for the good stuff! More previews! I had a lot of fun making this creature generator & examples for the Underrealms deck. Because the Underrealms is a whole new world in & of itself, even if you have drow, deep ones, duergar, purple worms, umber hulks, etc., there is plenty of room for more--plus it is always nice to give the players foes that they know nothing about, because their characters likely don't either. (Well, aside from whatever your game rules may do for a knowledge check.)

And that's a wrap for this update... As you can see, things are progressing along nicely and it won't be long until you get the digital files!
