Carrion Baggage is here to make large, practical plush bags that serve as daily use items but double as props! These unique and detailed bags are certain to get attention wherever you go. After more than a year with our original haunch and 2-bone meat bags on the market we've gotten to talk with several folks who use them as their main bags, leading to many improvements! This includes things like size, strap width and material, and exchanging hardware!

A BIG bag modeled on half of a breeding color salmon! The design is brilliantly colored, made with soft minky, and detailed with embroidery and applique. This is the largest bag of the 3 initial designs, making it a serious armful. If you're after the biggest bag you can get from this campaign, this is the one for you.

A hefty bag (not a trash by the way, it's big!) modeled on a garbage can ready to be raided by alley critters! The design includes some sublimation printing for fun detail like the drips of ooze, and the shoulder pad is a banana peel. This is almost as large as the salmon, and arguably fits more! It can also stand upright and hold shape even when empty.

A sleek bag modeled on half of a fatty tuna! This is the smallest bag of the 3 initial designs, but as you can see from the modeled photo it is still BIG. Due to the narrow back half this one is not the best for folks carrying very large sketchbooks or laptops, but it can fit most regular items.

Please note: The bags pictured are stuffed to show their shape when full and have a narrow strap! The final production bags will be shipped flat and will have a broader shoulder strap in a more comfortable material.

Tinned Chow is inspired by brightly colored vintage sardine cans! The exterior is cheery, and inside there's a row of poor lil dudes slathered in tomato sauce. Embroidery and applique are combined with strategic fabric printing to capture a vintage label look. This bag does not have a finalized prototype, so here are the concept drawings for every angle!

The first round prototype, which is going to be made smaller and will be replacing some fabric printing with embroidery:

A rounded bottomed bag made to look like a speckled quail egg! The zipper is hidden behind jagged looking fabric, and the yolk insides are a rich orange. This bag combines embroidery details and a 3D, sublimation printed drip. This bag does not have a finalized prototype, so here are the concept drawings for every angle! The final will have visible seams since it is a very round shape, please keep that in mind when selecting it.

A new color for our popular 2-bone meat! This new variety is meant to look like a specific sort of vehicle with a notorious, weirdly beautiful color scheme. It is the same size as our other 2-bone bags with the brand new hardware.

The same new color scheme for our other previous bag, the haunch! Everything will be updated for it as well, with the same size as before.

This long fish bag is meant to match the interior sardines from the Tinned Chow bag! Great for carrying any long n skinny goods like your stylus, pencils, pens, and so on. It will have embroidered and applique details and be made of the same soft minky as the rest! The inside will be printed fabric that shows some fishy meat-'n-bones.

Do you like the look of the bags but they just don't fit your wardrobe? Or perhaps they are out of your budget? A plush keychain might suit you better! Each keychain will have a classic keyring and a lobster clasp so you can choose how to use it!

These inch long acrylic charms have an easy-attach clip to slip them in to a zipper! Zipper pulls can make finding the zipper easier and pulling it open a lot simpler. That isn't usually much of a problem but if you're wearing gloves, in the dark, or have limited mobility it can be a big help. You can also stick them around elsewhere!

These full sized bags are the very first of the Carrion Baggage line, and they remain the most popular! The bags available through this campaign have newly improved hardware not present in the photos. The straps will be removable and are made of a broader and more puncture resistant material.

These pouches are small and meant to go on to lanyards using their back loops! While they will only fit small phones they are excellent for holding cards, stickers, cash, and other small items that you might want to have quick at hand even when you aren't carrying a full size bag and might not have pockets.

A mini grilled haunch and grilled 2-bone meat with both clip and classic keychain attachments! These cute lil keychains are great as zipper pulls or just as adornments. If no other plush keychains are unlocked these will be the free plush keychains provided to reserve backers.

Backerkit is a pledge now, pay later crowdfunding platform! Your card won't be charged until the end of the campaign, and if we don't reach our funding goal you won't be charged at all! You can edit, add to, or cancel your pledge any time between now and the end of the campaign, and add-ons can still be added even after the campaign ends. Waiting to pledge doesn't help us reach the goal, so if there is something you want it is best to pledge now instead of waiting for the campaign to be nearly over.

You will need a Backerkit account to back, but it is free and super quick to sign up for! Make sure you pay attention to the timeline, since crowdfunding plush like this is a lot like a pre-order. Pledges successfully charged after the campaign ends are final.

CAMPAIGN ENDS: April 2nd, 2026 at 8 PM CST

APRIL: Funds are collected
MAY: Manufacturing begins
AUGUST: Manufacturing is completed, bags go to sea
OCTOBER: Bags arrive stateside, fulfillment begins upon receiving
NOVEMBER: Fulfillment continues

Please note these estimates are only for bags with finalized prototypes. Ones without will take longer.

These are good size, very detailed plush bags that will take a long time to make. If delays arise they will be communicated promptly via updates, so be sure to keep an eye on those!

Bags without a finalized design are a lot harder to pinpoint because we don't know how many iterations it will take to make them perfect. As soon as the prototypes are finalized you can expect the following timeline: immediate safety testing, production beginning within a month, production wrapping up 2 to 3 months later, shipping overseas taking between 1 to 2 months, and fulfillment beginning ASAP. Some bags might not ship until the first chunk of 2027 if there are significant challenges. We'll do our best to get everything done as quickly as possible without cutting corners!

These are estimates, not guarantees. They also cover BAGS ONLY. Additional items will have their own production timelines, though they are likely to be much quicker!

Domestic and international fulfillment will both be handled by the in-house team at Lairbrew. Your package will come to you from a US address. Backers are responsible for all additional fees related to importing if there are additional fees in their country!

Edit

Lairbrew is a queer owned, disabled operated, typically plush focused art shop specializing in quality creations for older collectors. All the designs are meant to ignite that dragon-like urge to snatch up a new shiny and bring it back to your lair to lay on, and they remain a treasure that keeps bringing smiles! It is a very small business running from a home in the middle of nowhere in IL. Thanks to Backerkit we're able to grow and make designs plush and plush bag fans want!

Edit

Plush and bags are both expensive to make, and a combination is just as complicated! That is before you factor in the current tariffs, card fees, Backerkit fees, sea freight cost, safety testing, fulfillment materials like shipping bags, and a cushion for unexpected expenses! The potion above is a rough visual of where the money goes if we succeed. Manufacturing is by far the most expensive part, but tests, freight, and development just about double that. Everything else looks like a drop in the cauldron compared to those big costs!

For the first 48 hours of the campaign you will be able to back an Early Bird tier! These tiers take $10 off per bag.  There is no limit to how many backers can back at this level, but after 48 hours they will be locked and hidden. If you do not currently see the Early Bird levels then they are no longer available.

Returning backers will receive this free pin of our mascot Guz the Potion Dragon chomping on a 2-bone meat! They're a cute lil thing! It will have dyed metal and may be hard enamel or soft enamel - this will be decided upon knowing our total for the campaign. Only return backers with shipping non-flat rewards will receive this pin! If you are not receiving shipping rewards or are only receiving a flat envelope (stickers only) you will not receive this pin.

Don't worry, we're going in to this as educated as possible and as prepared as we can be without a crystal ball! However it is worth noting refunds will not be offered in response to tariffs, as due to the nature of crowdfunding, the money will have been spent on the manufacturing process. If this interferes with our fulfillment plans you will be able to choose between store credit equal to what you backed for lairbrew.com or the item you ordered as direct fulfillment from China, so you won't simply go without!
