Deadweights are teddy style plush with weighted limbs, soft stuffing, and silky soft, super fluffy fabric to make them the perfect cuddle buddies! Every Deadweights teddy is 18 inches tall at minimum, and each weighs 2 pounds (just under a kilo) or more. Each plush is designed to be both fun to look at, and as nice to hug as they are macabre! Their weight is in the limbs rather than the body, distributing it across the plush so they have a noticeable presence when being cuddled but without focusing too much weight on any 1 spot. This distribution of weight also makes them good choices for displaying sitting upright on beds and shelves!

Bantam Burials are tiny versions of the Deadweights characters that cost less and are still nice to hold! Less than 5 inches tall, these little glass bead filled friends will fit in the palm of your hand! They are purposefully given a loose amount of stuffing and beads to make them fun to squeeze and toss, and are made with a super short faux fur. Each one has button eyes marked with yarn Xs. These mini monsters are great for display even on small budgets!

Every character is based on a common phrase including the word "dead" or something similar, and they all have their own story for how they ended up here. They won't let being past-tense stop them from making new friends!

Making plush is an expensive endeavor, especially these days! In an effort to unlock as many designs as possible we have a bare minimum of additional other rewards, but there's still some things to select through- especially if you are a long time supporter.

Want to support the campaign while getting an inexpensive reward? We have 3 inch vinyl stickers of the Deadweights poison symbol, our mascot Guz having a tasty snack, and Guz trapped in a potion bottle! These stickers are not recommended for outdoor use as they are not tested for lightfastness under direct UV exposure, but they are otherwise durable and waterproof with vibrant prints!

Backers who arrive in the first 48 hours can take advantage of the earlybird tiers! These discounted plush are not limited in number, but will be locked down after 48 hours is up, so get them while you can. You can get a single plush for $50 (campaign: $55, standard retail: $60) or a plush bundle for $65 (campaign: $70, standard retail: $78)

  • Returning backers will receive a free mini pin of Guz in the Deadweights style for their Guz pin collection with eligible rewards!
  • Reserve Backers will receive a free Bantam Burials plush of their choice from unlocked designs with eligible rewards!
  • Prelaunch campaign followers will receive a free mini pin of the Deadweights poison symbol with eligible rewards!

PLEASE NOTE: You will not receive freebies if you are not receiving rewards, or if you are only receiving sticker rewards. Freebies go in to your rewards package, and if you are not receiving a shipment or your shipment must fit through an envelope sorter you cannot receive them and they will be removed from your pledge.

If you like creepy cute plush you'll probably enjoy what Living Biohazard has to offer! Switchblade and Anthrax, a bat from Fangy Friends, show how well they can go together. Fangy Friends 2 is going on right now!

If you support both of our campaigns you'll get a free Bantam Burial style plush of PomPom the possum clown, a tiny version of Poppet from Fangy Friends 2! You'll only receive this reward if you are backing both campaigns for at least 1 plush a piece, since they will be tagging along in one of those packages. PomPom will be for sale separately after the campaign at standard retail price from both Lairbrew and Living Biohazard, but this campaign is your only chance to get one for free!

CAMPAIGN ENDS: OCTOBER 1ST, 2026

NOVEMBER 2026: FUNDS COLLECTED

DECEMBER 2026: PLUSH SAFETY TESTING BEGINS

MID-FEBRUARY 2027: PRODUCTION BEGINS AFTER LUNAR NEW YEAR BREAK CONCLUDES

AUGUST 2027: PLUSH PRODUCTION WRAPS UP

OCTOBER 2027: PLUSH BEGIN ARRIVING IN THE US

DECEMBER 2027: FULFILLMENT BEGINS

JANUARY 2028: FULFILLMENT WINDS DOWN

The campaign ends on October 1st, 2026. As soon as funds clear safety testing, manufacturing, and related costs (such as tag printing) are paid for all plush. While production might begin before then for some designs, all production begins in full swing in February once everyone is back to work from Lunar New Year. Plush production should end in August at latest, and sea shipping begins right afterward. This can take 4 to 8 weeks depending on the order size, how long it takes to schedule a boat, and if I will be receiving the boxes via freight. Plush may arrive in late September, but are more likely to arrive in October. Fulfillment should be just starting in December after Midwest Furfest wraps up.

Shipping prices and the value of USD vs other currencies are in more of a state of flux than usual. I need to stress that these are estimates, not guarantees! You will see your actual shipping before your card is charged for it, so you can double check it beforehand and request a hold where necessary.

Domestic fulfillment and international fulfillment both will be handled by the in-house team at Lairbrew. We do not work with a fulfillment team at the time of this writing, and we're just 2 people who are working full time! Our plush campaigns tend to take a little over a year total to fulfill from start to finish.

If fulfillment becomes a large enough task due to campaign success, the extra strain will be alleviated by working with Nextsmartship, who we have worked with in the past on non-crowdfunding fulfillment. This is a pre-established working relationship which means as easy a change in hands as possible.

Backerkit is a pledge now, pay later crowdfunding platform! Your card won't be charged until the end of the campaign, and if we don't reach our funding goal you won't be charged at all! You can edit, add to, or cancel your pledge any time between now and the end of the campaign, and add-ons can still be added even after the campaign ends. Waiting to pledge doesn't help us reach the goal, so if there is something you want it is best to pledge now instead of waiting for the campaign to be nearly over.

You will need a Backerkit account to back, but it is free and super quick to sign up for! Make sure you pay attention to the timeline, since crowdfunding plush like this is a lot like a pre-order. Pledges successfully charged after the campaign ends are final.

Lairbrew is a queer owned, disabled operated, plush focused art shop specializing in quality creations for older collectors. All these designs are meant to ignite that dragon-like urge to snatch up a new shiny and bring it back to your lair to lay on, and they remain a treasure that keeps bringing smiles! It is a very small business running from a home in the middle of nowhere in IL. Years ago October found a crumpled bit of cash in a coat pocket and bought 12 stickers of a single design. Everything at Lairbrew was built up from what they made on that handful of stickers, and after years of hard work we're here asking you today to help us continue to grow!

Lairbrew is run by a full-time team of wives: Tig and October. October wears most of the hats when it comes to art, design, and web presence, and Tig helps a ton with fulfillment and handling all the numbers. Business is also overseen by a small flock of house chickens (Big Juicy, Nana Banana, Noodle Caboodle, and Dino Saure) judging everything we do, so there's plenty of wee supervisors while your order gets packed!
