Project Update: Unboxing the Burning Gods! September Update

Hi everyone,

This is a big one: the Pre-Production Copy (PPC) arrived from Panda this month and I’m excited to show it off. Spoiler alert: it looks awesome. I’m very happy with how it turned out, but I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking:

What’s a PPC?

For those unfamiliar, a PPC is a handmade, one-off copy of the final files we submitted. It’s both a proof of concept and my last chance to request changes before full production begins.

The Burning Gods PPC turned out fantastic, but, as usual, there were a few small tweaks to make:

Box depth: We increased the box by 5mm to ensure it holds everything comfortably. With the extra pages in Burning Gods and the addition of Smuggler’s Guide, the original box was just a bit too snug.
Consistency fixes: I corrected a number of small formatting errors, especially around dice notation (everything now consistently uses “1d10” for example).
Character sheets: I ordered slightly thicker stock for the character sheets so they’ll hold up better to repeated erasing and rewriting.

Timeline

With the PPC approved, the project is ready for full production. The next step is securing a spot in the factory schedule. I’m pushing to get a slot as soon as possible and expect an update from Panda shortly.
Once production begins, assembly should take about one month. After that, shipping will take roughly six weeks to reach fulfilment partners in the USA, Canada, and the UK. Barring delays, this puts delivery in the 2–3 month range, which is on track with our revised estimates.

Other Updates

Final PDFs: Updated versions are now uploaded to BackerKit. This time I’ve also included a standard ZIP file for easier access (no more 7zip headaches). If you run into any trouble downloading, let me know and I’ll get it sorted.
Custom Fonts: The Burning Gods fonts: Seneschal Slab and Seneschal Script, are finished and available in the downloads folder. A note from Dai: “With both fonts, uppercase runs left-to-right and lowercase runs right-to-left. You can mix them, but it breaks the flow.” Have fun experimenting!
Audio Tracks: All recordings are complete. Our audio engineer is currently mixing and adding foley. I should have samples to review this week and will share them with you once they’re ready. I can’t wait to hear the fully produced versions.

Hardlight Anthology Preview

While Burning Gods heads into manufacturing, I’ve also been hard at work on my upcoming project: Dying Hard on Hardlight Station: NS-1365 Anthology.
