Project Update: Manufacture Complete! Awaiting the Burning Gods: October Update
Hi everyone,
Lots to share this month! The manufacturing of Awaiting the Burning Gods is officially wrapping up. The factory completion date is November 10th, which means the games will be packed and ready to ship that same day.
Once the games leave Panda’s facility, they’ll head out via sea freight to the fulfillment centres:
- USA: Flying Cloud Fulfillment
- Canada: Compose Dream Games
- UK and Worldwide: ZATU Games
Ocean freight usually takes about six weeks, so if all goes smoothly, the boxes should start arriving at the fulfillment centres right around the holidays.
Manufacturing Progress
The Manufacturer’s Production Copy (MPC) has arrived and looks fantastic. I’m really proud of how everything has come together.
- New Dice: We’ve got Awaiting the Burning Gods custom dice now—photo below!
- Deeper Box: The box has been expanded by 5mm to comfortably hold all the extra content included in this edition.
- Final Edits: My copy editor/wife, Carol went through the zine with fresh eyes and found the last few typos and formatting inconsistencies. All dice notation is now consistent (1d10 across the board), and we’ve converted all measurements to metric, because, well, we’re in Canada, and metric just makes more sense in space ;-). Digital versions of the final files have also been uploaded to your BackerKit accounts as of the beginning of this month.
Audio Files
The full set of Burning Gods audio tracks went live earlier this month. If you haven’t checked them out yet, I highly recommend it. There's a unique track for each of the ten rumours in the rumour table as well as all the called out radio transmissions in the book. There are also some audio logs from the first expedition that can be found on discarded data pads around the ruins.
The tracks were all sound engineered by Eric Hill (Golden Achiever), who worked his usual magic. I handled the writing and direction, and a few friends helped bring the voices to life. These were a lot of fun to record, and I hope they help to add atmosphere and immersion to your games.

Shipping and BackerKit
I’ll be locking orders and charging shipping in the coming weeks, once the games are confirmed to be on the water. From what I’ve seen so far, shipping costs should match the original estimates from the campaign page. If anything changes, I’ll update you right away.
Looking Ahead
We’re very close to the one-year mark from the campaign’s launch during last year’s Mothership Month, and I’m thrilled to be this close to getting the games into your hands. If all goes well with ocean freight, you can expect your copies around Christmas or early in the new year. Of course, that depends a bit on global shipping conditions during the busy holiday season.
This project has been a labour of love from start to finish. My goal has always been simple: to make things I’d be excited to receive myself. I think Awaiting the Burning Gods hits that mark. The art by Daniel Vega, layout by Dai Shugars, and the craftsmanship from Panda Games Manufacturing all came together beautifully. Editors Roz Leahy and Jarrett Crader also did excellent work polishing the text into its final form.
I’m deeply proud of how this project turned out and grateful for your patience, support, and excitement along the way.
That’s all for this month. Comments or questions? Drop them below. Until next time, have an awesome October and I’ll talk to you soon.
All the best,
Dave
