Welcome to the Feather & Stone Chapbook Campaign!

Over the years, my art mediums have changed but my love of nature's small objects has not. They have always been meditations on life and our relationship with the natural world. Memories filled with magic and hope. Feather & Stone is the first in a series of small books I have planned to share my personal experiences with nature through my pencil drawings and my poetry and prose.

My funding goal is for the printing of 200 books but I will have more printed if the campaign surpasses that goal.

I created this tier for backers in the EU and anyone who wants to support my project but are unable to pledge for the book. This reward will be mailed in a stamped envelope. It does not include add-ons. 

Add-ons are available at the time of pledging and also during survey phase but some are limited in quantity. Available to purchase are: extra copies of Feather & Stone, Bookplates, Stickers, the original drawing for the Early Bird Reward, Art Print Sets, a Mystery Mini Print, and Post-It notes!

Early Bird Reward

Early followers to the campaign voted in a poll for a special reward given to backers who pledge in the first 48 hours. The winner was a 4x5 inch art print! Prints of this exclusive reward will not be available outside the 48 hour window but the original drawing can be purchased in the Add-ons.

Exclusive Bookplates

Return Backers and Patrons will receive an exclusive bookplate with their pledge! Bookplates measure 3x3 inches and come on self-adhesive matte paper.

Everyone leaves a footprint. I hope mine speak of my love for nature, a connection to the land and the magic infused in everything around us.

I'm Amanda Makepeace, an award-winning illustrator, artist, poet, and life-long wanderer. Through my art I explore the themes of nature, magic, and lore. You may know me from the Dragon Con Art Show, the Bird Whisperer Project, and the Changeling Artist Collective. In 2020, I made the decision to return to my first love, graphite. Creating the drawings I do, feels like a meditation--communing with the energy and message nature has for us. I want to share that through my art, help build a bridge for people to rekindle a connection with the land and feel how we are all related. 

I try to extend this way of thinking to everything I create outside my drawings. I love creating eco-friendly merch, like wooden pins! I'm also passionate about natural history and sketching. When I'm not in the studio, I might be out wandering in the woods or curled up with a good book!

I've partnered up with Sara McCormick to offer backers who support both our campaigns two special rewards! I'm offering a bookmark with floating feathers and Sara is offering a lovely 3" sticker with woodland animals. These rewards are only available when you back both campaigns.

The chapbook is about 75% ready to go!! Here's my current timeline:

Backers will be charged for shipping when you fill out your survey. Rewards only ship if you have filled out your survey and paid for your shipping and any add-ons.

Any surveys that haven't been completed 2 MONTHS AFTER SHIPPING ENDS will forfeit their pledge and will not be refunded. If your payment fails, I will attempt to re-charge your card and contact you, but if there's no response within the 2 MONTH timeline your pledge will be forfeited.

When the project closes you will no longer have access to complete the survey or fix your payment method.

All rewards will be shipped through USPS in a sturdy cardboard Gemini mailer, using current rates from PirateShip.com. Apart from the original drawing commission, all rewards will fit inside the 5.5x8.5 chapbook which will be inside a biodegradable glassine envelope to protect it's surface.
