I've had this idea stirring in my brain forever so I'm excited to finally make it happen. I really love making and collecting mini pins so what better way to display them then stacking them on top of a background scene pin. Each set comes with an XL pin with several holes for you to place mini pins into and create a fun scene.
About Me
Hello! My name is Daria, and I go by milkbun online. I'm a graphic designer and illustrator with a love for creating cute things, especially foods and animals. Over the years I've made close to a hundred pins but every new pin feels like an exciting adventure. This is my second project on Backerkit (Pin Pals Go to Work) and I have run 2 other hugely successful pin campaigns on Kickstarter (Wooden Charcuterie Board and Potions & Spirits).

This project features Pin Kits that includes 3 pins. Each kit contains an extra large Background Scene Pin and 2 Mini Pins to get your adventure started. Get extra Mini Pins for more options! The background pin includes several holes for you to put the mini pins into so try stacking them into different spots to see what you like best. Remember, you can also use mini pins you already own for even more fun!

Will all mini pins fit into the holes?
Yes! It's not always noticeable but many pins have an extra tiny prong on the back by the needle. This is to help it grab the material even more tightly. So while any pin can be inserted into the hole, many will not lay flat (some pins have this prong and some don't). If you'd like to fix this you can use pliers or push it down hard to flatten it. However, please note this may scratch the enamel so it's up to you. Use a scrap pin to push down onto if you'd like. For the final pins, I will be making the holes smaller so they look even more 'hidden'!
Will a stacked pin still stay attached onto materials?
Yes! While I cannot put a guarantee on every pin since they have been made differently throughout many years, I can safely say that all testing I've done at home was successful. I even made a sample of the Forest Kit to make double sure. When you put a mini pin into the hole of the scene pin you are losing 2mm of the needle on the back but there is still enough length to attach it to material. I recommend using black rubber clutches for the best hold.

The project's initial goal of $1200 will unlock our first Scene Pins Kit - FOREST. After the initial goal, unlock extra mini pins that fit the theme and extra Scene Pin Kits.

Shipping fees will be collected separately once the campaign ends.
Once the campaign ends on February 12th, the payment info you included will be used to secure your pledge. After that step, you will be charged for shipping after you've filled out your survey and selected the items you want.
🟢 US shipping: Orders will be handled through White Squirrel, a US-based fulfillment company. The amounts below are only an estimation of your final shipping charge and are based on weight.
