Project Update: SHIVER Classified Fully Funded in 4 Hours
Funding goal neutralised!
Well it looks like we've got a bumper crop of recruits for the agency this season! A quick in and out, mission complete and home in time for dinner kind of cohort. 4 hours is quite the pace.
But seriously, thanks so much again from all of us at Parable Games for supporting us once more with another SHIVER launch. We're so happy to be able to keep growing and adding to this utterly bonkers world we've created and are thrilled that you all love playing in it!
For those who haven't joined the fray yet, fear not L.A.N.C.E. is still accepting recruits.

We'll be back with more updates, stretch goals and more tomorrow!

Project Update: Prom, the bloodiest night of your life? πΉ
Prom, a strange foreign institution to us Brits. The subject of much teenage angst and many the culmination of movies good and bad. The Killer Queen follows a L.A.N.C.E. agent undercover as part of a film crew shooting a movie at an abandoned high school.
The script however, cuts a bit close to home. Based on real events, events that were part of an old L.A.N.C.E. case which was never satisfactorily closed. The murder spree by one girl of her entire graduating class back in the 60's.
Unsurprisingly, dredging up the past like this isn't going to go well for our poor film crew. But it's up to our agents to determine the what's causing this. Is it a demon, spirit, or just a person who'd been driven over the edge by this strange coming of age tradition?

Project Update: Civilians sometimes get the sharp end π
Sometimes incidents occur before L.A.N.C.E. can really get a handle on them. Whilst they endeavour to be first on the scene there are times when others get there earlier. This is where L.A.N.C.E.'s public relations team comes to the fore, making connections with emergency responders and other organisations to make sure fires get put out with minimal fuss and maximum secrecy.
Impossible Inferno sees your players don helmets and grab a hose as firefighters attending a blaze at a hotel. Little do they know that this hotel has been built over a portal to hell by a shady real estate investor. Like the Italian classic they'll find themselves working their way through many levels of this hellish hotel to escape and save the occupants.
Once the story is over what will they do? Keep quiet like the nice agent asks? Or perhaps they've got a taste for fighting something more than fires now?

Project Update: Recycle, the possibilities are deadly β»οΈ
SHIVER Classified: Unseen War was a great chance to flex our history nerd muscles and dig into some strange bits of our worlds collective past and then make them even more weird. One story included in the book is Toxic Plasticity. A tale of scientific intrigue during the Cold War.
You've all heard of the space race, and various other peculiar competition between both sides of the Cold War for supremacy in really niche areas. Well L.A.N.C.E. have discovered one such area that the Soviets are trying to gain the upper hand in. The material of the future. Plastics!
They've created a new sentient plastic Codename: BAKALIFE. An ingenious new food storage solution, keep your food fresh and heat it up in your new fangled Microwave Oven. Of course when you do the plastic will come to life and try to kill you. The perfect infiltrator to every Western home, a kitchen accessory.
Your agents' job. Infiltrate the science town where this sentient plastic is being developed and sabotage it. What could possible go wrong?
