Here we are now. So let's take stock once more, like we did a week ago today. But this time, let's see those number as they converted over to today!
From 583 backers to 710!
$88,529 were raised then, now we're at $109,712!
$6,803 became $8,043.20 spent on ads.
Items pledged:
173 => 247 Seasons Sets
411 => 485 Key Keeper Sets
217 => 249 Dice Chests
262 => 327 Wooden Boxes
9 => 15 Seasons Stone Sets
30 => 38 Key Keepers Stone Sets
25 => 32 Hot Housewives Tarots
26 => 31 Misery Tarots
Now, this is typically the slowest part of any campaign-- the middle. And in a 3-week campaign, that means this growth should have been the smallest we'll see. Gaining $21,000+ in that time suggests we could see a solid increase to that in this final week. This means we're likely set for around $150,000 at the end, with probably about 900 backers.
These are numbers that, in my earlier days, I could only dream about. But our 2nd edition of the dice did $180,000 in the first 24 hours of its campaign, and ended at $230,000 with 3,300 people 3 years ago. I think there are some factors that likely would have made our current campaign smaller no matter what. It was riding the Alleyman's Tarot high, many people were still coming from that project to new ones at the time. That's less of a thing today. But more notably, economically and politically, things are a lot less certain today for so many.
All of which is to say, it's clear to me that now that I will be looking to shrink costs on the project. This means we may not manufacture very many extra dice sets, copies of the Misery Tarot, and copies of the Hot Housewives Tarot. I am also getting new quotes on the dice that will lower the manufacturing costs quite a bit.
The most important takeaway for you, though, is that now is the time to get the decks or dice that you want.You can adjust your payment method in your pledge to turn on pay-over-time, which splits your 150$+ pledge into 4 equal payments over 4 months, rather than all at once! There just isn't much room to have extras made here. On the 2nd edition project, we produced 5,000 sets! Here, there's no real reason to produce even 1,000 of either dice set, or either tarot deck.
And keep sharing this link to friends, family, and interested folks in divination! Every little bit helps. https://www.backerkit.com/c/projects/publishing-goblin-llc/the-goblin-s-oracle-dice?ref=BackerShare
The Misery Tarot Spotlight!
The Misery Tarot is soft-launching here, and is our closest project to release! Literally every piece of it is done but the guidebook-- which is my current writing focus. This tarot-companion deck is 100 cards, focused on grief, loss, misery, trauma, and the healing journey through it all. It can be read on its own for shadow work, or readings focused on these specific topics, or it can be used with Overlay Readings on top of other tarot deck's readings, informing the reading on how trauma, pain, suffering, or the healing from those things are affecting the reading.
It starts with the Main Exhibit, replacing the Major Arcana and ventures into a Joker Suit of two cards and then 7 Houses. The Main Exhibit explores a journey through misery and suffering, and what things you face and meet along the way through a blood and rust, survival horror themed approach. The Houses then represent the 7 Stages of Grief, from the Shock and Denial of Blades, through the Guilt of Wire, into the Anger and Bargaining of Flesh, the Dissociation of Rot, and to the Upward Turn of Nails, the Rebuilding through Rust, and finally to the Hope of Blood.
The deck works from a horror-space, but is not meant to be terrifying. It instead is meant to follow you through a dark museum of your pain, to help you understand it. Through understanding, we can heal and grow. Enoch Duncan's incredible work is our dark hand, welcoming us into the shadows.
Consider adding a copy of the Standard Edition to your pledge for $60, or the Deluxe for $120. A reminder that the Deluxe includes The Black Lantern dice, which are in the Key Keepers Set. You can have duplicates without issue, letting each bundle of 5 dice live separately in their own sets (The Tarot and the Dice), or you can use the UPDATE Add-Ons to get just the other Key Keeper Set dice.
The Wanderer
Now, three Wanderers have come and gone already, soon to return. They featured helpful discounts. They had no quantity limit, but they appeared just for mere moments. They were these:
There is one more Wanderer to approach tomorrow, twice. Then, we repeat this routine, day by day to the 19th.
Fourteen, Twenty Two, Twenty, Ten, Twenty One, Sixteen, Twenty Three. And before you ask, it's always Mountain Time, baby.
Then we'll see what awaits us Thursday next week, when everything comes to a close. Our closing party will feature The Wanderer unveiled, who has more gifts to share.
The Trivia Competition Heats Up!
I want to push the Trivia Competition to its close, so today and on, there will be a new question every day to the 22nd! So get your thinking caps on and dive in, friends!
