Project Update: Mountains of Madness Playtesting Begins

The distressed letter, tattered and stained and thrice-soaked in snow, is miraculously legible. It bespeaks foul news from deep within the Mountains of Adamant...

Mountain of Madness Beta PDF has been distributed!

Written by Nathan Heard, this terrifying tale of Lovecraftian horrors in the MythCraft Universe is ready to drive your players to madness... if they're lucky, at least. This complete adventure for four to six level 5 heroes has been designed by Joie Young and contains illustrations from John Bilodeau, Nathan Deiwert, Eryn Fitzgerald, Jake Neece, Anton Prusov, and Racky.

What's Next?

MythCraft Enhanced is coming along quite well. Here is a status report:
  • Core Rulebook is on the ocean, and will arrive this month if there are no delays
  • Beyond the Clouds is in layout,
  • Haunting of Vel Academy is in editing
  • Tales of MythCraft is wrapping up writing
  •  Cloven Lands is in editing
  • Other Physical Items are in production! I have approved samples on everything already, and this stuff... dice, bags, shirts, maps, will be some of the first items completed.

The VTT System is in development, and we've partnered with some wonderful folks to bring this to life. We did have to start completely over, but we are already miles ahead of where the last attempt left us, and I believe we may be ahead of schedule, and we may be performing a closed alpha test by the end of June.

Huge thanks to Caden Levett, an incredible developer, formerly at Roll20, who has worked on DND5e and Pendragon for getting us back on track. We have also contracted with Joseph Meehan, who has worked on Draw Steel and many Pinnacle Entertainment projects, to head up our Foundry development. We're very grateful for these pros coming in and getting us on the right path!

All in all, the schedule is looking good! Things might (and probably will) happen, and we've definitely learned that putting dates on things tends to lead to slowdowns overall, but I am fairly confident that we will meet or beat our original timeline estimate at this time.

Thanks all!

ps. If you would consider yourself a power use of MythCraft, Foundry, or Roll20, (Or better yet, pick 2!) please get in touch with me on Discord. I may want your opinions in the closed VTT alpha!
