Just an ugly bucket, rusted with age and innocently sitting on the dungeon floor. Yeah right.
Tiny teeth line the handle and edges of this mimic-like creature. The second it gets fangs in you, it injects venom that dissolves you into goop. Your goop then falls into the conveniently bucket-shaped body so it can savor every last drop of your stupidity.
With every meal it consumes, it grows larger and larger. Fully grown Chomp Buckets develop legs to chase down their prey.
Get the hell out of (the) Dodge (guild) Remember high school dogeball? Sure, you do: we unblocked any memories you'd intentionally forgotten in order to revive this particular long-dead sport. Watch out, the dodgeball hooligans are merciless. But if you can survive long enough, they might teach you a thing or two about how to dodge in battle as well as any guild.
Chris Andrews Chris is quiet but empathetic, with some engineering skills and a tendency to loot everything he can. On the Third Floor, he chooses the lava-rock Igneous race and Zulu Warrior Class, which was likely inspired by the magical spear he learns to summon on the First Floor.

Smaller than most Skyfowl, Aves is also the fastest flyer around and the messenger girl for a large part of the Medium Skyfowl Settlement. She knows all the gossip, all the rumors, and all the dirty little deliveries the wealthiest Skyfowl try to keep hidden. She’s also got the plucky attitude of a lead character from a children’s animated TV show and the belief that smiling is the most important thing you can do. Too bad for her, beaks are pretty much incapable of making that expression.
Jeff Frost
Iron Tangle Middle Management Associate
This is a Non-Combatant NPC.
Not as famous or talented as his cousin, Jack. Jeff has been a constant disappointment to everyone he’s ever met and several people he’s never met. He’s taken that all to heart and gone into management to keep the disappointment train running on the Iron Tangle, where he pushes paper from one side of his oversized desk to the other, yells at everyone that they’re working overtime tonight, and swipes through Tinder for a date after his wife left him. A huge J-Rock and metal fan before the end of the world, Suzuka arrived in the dungeon with her guitar and quickly put her musical skills to use to survive the early levels of the dungeon. Already fully sold on the goth subculture, she jumped on the chance to dive into necromancy and raising the dead with her sick guitar riffs. She lets her undead minions shred her enemies while she shreds some sick tunes.
Instead of a horn, this rhino—the size of a pick-up truck—grew a snake from its nose. Unfortunately for it, the snake never stopped growing, and now it determines where they go.
This creature is dangerous at both ends and wily in the middle. It coils and wraps its massive body around everything it touches before swallowing it whole. If the snake head doesn’t get you, don’t worry… The rhino attached to it is starved enough to forsake its mostly vegetarian ways and rip you to shreds too.
Bullion Cube
Have you ever had a meal so tasty you just can’t forget it? Well, sometimes an ooze dissolves something it just can’t let go of. This one ate a bull a long time ago and now pilots its skeleton by wrapping its ooey-gooey body around the remaining bits of bone.
Acidic to the touch, resistant to magic, and filled with all-natural, delicious beef flavor, this ooze isn’t sure you’ll make it forget that magical meal, but it’s certainly willing to try.
Smiling Void
The infinite, dark emptiness of space is overwhelming to the human mind, so we added a smiley mouth to the void to make it friendlier! The smile has developed a concerning number of teeth as it expanded, but, well, a mouth’s got to open and close, right?
This howling expanse of darkness and gleaming teeth is waiting to welcome you into the great unknown with its winning, star-eating grin.

Surveys, surveys, surveys!
We currently have just under 70% of surveys filled, which is awesome! As a reminder we’re going to be closing surveys on July 10th, and if your survey isn’t completed by then it’s going to be a rigamarole to finish it. So save yourself the hassle and ensure you complete your survey before the deadline!
If you are a Pay Over Time backer, you won’t receive your survey until after your final payment. So no need to worry about this deadline if you’re in that camp!
The Road Ahead
From July 10th onward (until about mid-August) we’re diving into our summer con circuit. Next weekend we’ll be at LitRPG Con in Denver (come say hi if you’re there!) and then we’re headed to Gen Con! We’ll be doing our best to check in and fulfill requests that come into the support email, but please expect some longer than usual wait times as we work through this busy, busy period!
When will we have finalized shipping prices?
In case you missed it during the campaign, we did get shipping estimates up! These estimates should be very close to the final shipping numbers. Assuming the world’s structures don’t get flattened before then, of course! Puts a bit of a wrench in the postal system when that happens… If your shipping zone isn’t listed it’s because we’re still waiting on estimates from our shipping partners. We are doing our best to get this information for you and will keep you updated as we receive quotes!
What happens if I’m not a Pay Over Time backer and I don’t get my survey done before July 10th?
July 10th is when we plan on charging cards for tax, VAT, and any extra add-ons you’ve added. If you can’t get your survey completed before this survey lock deadline, the survey will automatically lock and you won’t be able to access it to make pledge changes or add any more add-ons.
If you need to make changes after that date, you’d need to send an email to us at [email protected] so we can manually unlock your survey, which could potentially delay your pledge fulfillment.
What if I’m a Pay Over Time backer?
If you’re a Pay Over Time backer you will receive your survey after your final payment. For most backers it should be on or around August 18th. We’ll be keeping an eye out for your surveys and prioritizing those so we can also get them fulfilled ASAP.
When will I be charged for shipping?
Shipping is still on track to be charged in September or early October. It’ll be charged to the card that you have attached to your pledge/Backerkit account. We’ll send out an update warning everyone beforehand and that will also be the final chance to lock/change addresses.
When are digital files coming?
Digital files will be out in chunks as we get things finished! We’re aiming to release the digital Starter Set and Core Rule Book in August, and then we’ll establish a schedule for the Season Pass drops and the bonus things you’ve all voted for via our Backer polls here. 🎉

And well, if Mayor Blindel needs a hand redoing the rose garden before she could possibly sign the clinic’s papers…
Gosh… It’s hard work being the only functional person around, isn’t it?
Totally Normal Rat Hunt
Oh no, there are rats in the basement of Glug Glug, the local tavern. This is surely the first time in history that this has happened. If only a big, strong adventurer just starting on their epic quest were around to save Old Man Franco’s beloved establishment. You’ll do.
Defeat the Totally Normal Rats loitering in the basement that totally doesn’t lead to a secret tunnel, an evil cult devoted to Helik, or an especially moldy piece of cheese. This is a normal quest that’s absolutely just about killing Totally Normal Rats.
Cupcake Delivery
Aline, a fairy baker, has her biggest order ever: a dozen Hummingbird cupcakes to Skyton, a nearby medium settlement of Skyfowl! The problem? She’s far too small to transport them herself, and the path between towns is dangerous and filled with feral lemurs. It’s up to you to get these cupcakes safely to their destination without destroying the delicate desserts and ruining Aline’s Thick Cakes business before it even gets started.

Why haven’t I received my survey?/Why can’t I access my survey?
If you’re a Pay Over Time backer and making payments still you will receive your survey after your final payment. You should receive your survey approximately 48 hours after your final payment but it has been taking a little longer for some people.
