I sent out the surveys yesterday, and while it's mostly smooth sailing, there are a few addendums I need to make. Please read!

If you need help with your survey, please email me through BackerKit support ("Contact us for help" button on your pledge page), or through the contact form on my website. I can help you faster if you email me directly.  Unfortunately BackerKit only sends me one email a day for comments on updates, so I thought everything was a breeze until I got the daily comment summary email, hahah.

If you are a cross-collab backer and want to combine shipping with Frogtastic Frogs, there will be instructions for this on the Frogtastic Frogs survey. You do not need to do anything on your Birds of Rotterdam survey. If you opt in for combined shipping, your shipping fees will be waived on Frogtastic Frogs. Appeltjesgroen will share the list of combined shipping backers with me, and we will make sure your rewards for both projects are packed and shipped together. My apologies for being unclear!

If you are an Early Bird or Returning Backer, I meant to make it possible for you to select the sticker you'd like to receive. I thought BackerKit had fixed this for me but it looks like something went wrong. My apologies!
I made a new add-on where you can select your sticker. Please open your survey, go to the add-on page, and scroll all the way down. You should see the following listing:

Please use this item to select your sticker designs. Backers who don't select a design will receive a random design. Note: Qualifying backers have the "Early Bird Backer - Free Sticker" and/or "Returning Backer - Free Sticker" item in their carts. It doesn't seem like I am able to hide the add-on for non-qualifying backers, so if that is you, please just ignore the listing. :)

Once again thank you for all the excitement around this project, and all the kind comments you've been leaving for me in the survey! I can't respond to everyone but it feels so nice to share my love of birds with you all and I feel so appreciated. <3 You've also been leaving many great merch and species suggestions as well, and while my wanna-do list is super long already, I'm adding every suggestion to it!

Hi everybody!

Just a quick update to let you know that I've submitted the survey to be reviewed by BackerKit! If everything looks good on their end, I'll be able to send out a smoke test on Thursday, with the rest of the surveys hopefully being sent out on Friday. The survey is where you'll be able to enter your shipping address, and also where you'll let me know which pins you'd like to receive. I added an image with all the pin designs to the bottom of this update!


Failed pledges

Currently there are 45 failed pledges. Please check if your charge went through by going to your profile menu and going to "Your Pledges & Surveys". Click on "Birds of Rotterdam" and check if you were successfully charged. If the charge failed, you can retry charging your card by re-entering your card information. For additional info on updating your payment method, click here.

Howdy!


The campaign is now officially over! We raised just over 32k, making it my best crowdfunding to date. And for that, I wanted to thank you so much!!

I figured I'd share some fun statistics with you guys. Over the span of three weeks we unlocked 64 bird enamel pin designs. I'm donating 5 pins of each design to the bird rescue, which means 320 birdy enamel pins will be donated to charity, thanks to you!

284 of you backed both Birds of Rotterdam and our partner project, Frogtastic Frogs. That's 284 ducklings-on-lily-pads who will be surfing to their new homes!

Now for the items. You guys pledged for a whopping 2854 enamel pins! I am bracing my wrists in anticipation of fulfillment..
305 angry Canada goose freebies will be wreaking havoc on new pinboards!
Stickersheets were more popular than vinyl stickers, 172 versus 99. 35 birdy keychains will be flying out to their new homes. 70 sock pairs will be heading your way too, and 125 hair claws found a new head to perch on!

Hi flock!


We're 30 hours away from the campaign's end! Now is the time to make the final adjustments to your pledge and double check if you selected all the rewards that you wanted. :)

We're super close to our final 30k stretch goal, but I'm not sure if we will hit it or not.. I did notice there are a lot of plover lovers keeping an eye on this last goal, and my long-time tern loving backer hasn't gone unnoticed either :) So I've decided to unlock this goal early! I hope you enjoy these last four birdies.

Behind the scenes I've been working hard on getting every design ready for manufacturing. I'm almost done with everything. The lineart has been vectorized, I printed some final sizing charts, and all Pantone colors have been picked. I'm going to go through all of this on one last time on Friday to make sure no mistakes managed to make their way in.

On Monday, I'll be meeting with Appeltjesgroen to set up the surveys for both of our projects. With so many pin designs this will be another huge task, but I'm looking forward to it!
