Project Update: An Invitation: You Built the Foundation. Now, Help Us Build the World.
Hey everyone,
It’s been a journey. Because of your incredible support in our first BackerKit campaign, Monsters & Myths went from a dream to a reality. You helped us forge the rulebook, fund the art, and bring this world to life. For that, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
There has been so much I've wanted to share with you all during the campaign and this fulfillment phase — deep dives into the lore, the design philosophy, the 'why' behind it all — but a simple campaign update never felt like the right place for that kind of conversation.
The rewards are being fulfilled, but the story is far from over. In fact, it’s just beginning.
Today, I’m excited to invite you to the next phase of our adventure: The Monsters & Myths Workshop, our new, official home on Substack. The doors to the Workshop will officially open this Monday, August 1st!
This isn't just a newsletter. It’s an invitation to step inside the workshop.
When you join us — for free — you’re not just getting updates. You’re getting a seat at the table where the game is being played, tested, and forged. Here’s what that means:
- The Designer's Journal: You’ll get direct access to the "why" behind the game's design. We’ll be exploring the philosophy of our card-based system, our unique approach to progression, and the folklore that inspires our world.
- The System Deep Dive: We'll teach you the game, piece by piece, in a series of clear, accessible posts. You’ll learn the nuances of the four Domains, the power of Face Cards, and the art of building a truly unique Persona, directly from the source.
- The Collaborative Saga: This is where you stop being a reader and become a co-creator. Starting next week, we are building our first official hero from the ground up, and your vote will decide everything from their core powers to where their story begins. Your vote doesn't just influence the story; it is the story.
- The Council Thread: You will have a standing invitation to our monthly "Council" sessions— a dedicated space to ask questions, offer feedback, and help us stress-test and refine the game. Your insights will directly inform the future of Monsters & Myths.
The first edition is here because of you. Now, the world grows. This Substack is where we’ll build the rest of the city, and we want you to help us do it.
