How long will it take to receive my rewards?

All magazines will be shipped in May 2026 - that's just two months from now!

For backers at the Collector (Print) tier, the print versions of Cozy Compendia I and II will arrive in May. The print versions of Cozy Compendia III and IV will arrive by the end of 2026.

How do I redeem my magazine subscription?

After the campaign, you will receive a unique code which you will need to input on https://www.grimomenmag.com along with your mailing information. By default, your subscription will be set to auto-renew so that you don't miss any issues, but you can cancel your auto-renew at any time right on the website or by contacting us at contact@snowbrightstudio.com

What countries do you ship to?

Digital subscriptions are available globally.

Due to the "just in time" nature of printing and shipping a monthly magazine, print subscriptions are currently only available to backers with mailing addresses located in the United States.

Can I sign up for just Cozy Companion magazine?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and you can do that today! Cozy Companion has already been in print for three years. You can sign up for Cozy Companion magazine on its website at https://www.cozycompanionmag.com

We are offering all "dark and cozy" tiers as a way to conveniently select both subscriptions during the campaign.

Do the magazines have ads in them?

Accepted Answer

No! All magazines are printed perfect bound, on high quality paper stock with no ads or sponsored placements in them. Every page is put together by our team independently.

We know that most American magazines are staple bound/saddle stitched on thin paper and often have more ads than content... Grim Omen and Cozy Companion are nothing like those!

How do the Steam codes work?

Every month we will email you a code for a digital game that you can redeem on Steam. The game is yours to own, play, and keep forever. We partner with indie game studios to purchase codes directly from them, supporting indie studios both financially and helping them to reach more people.

Do you [Snowbright Studio] publish games?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we do! We are the publishers of hit tabletop games like the cozy mystery RPG, Teatime Adventures, and the cozy spooky RPG, ink. We also publish cozy board games like Insectarium and Harvest Hoppers. You can find out more about our catalog on https://www.snowbrightstudio.com

Do the magazines contain content about Snowbright Studio games?

Not really, no. Since September 2025, you will no longer find adventures, content, and lore for Snowbright games in our magazines. If you're looking for more content for Snowbright's games, you can check us out at https://www.snowbrightstudio.com instead

Question 9

What kind of Steam games will I receive?

Accepted Answer

We select games each month based on a variety of factors. In the past, all of the games that we have selected have (1) had an MSRP of $15 or higher, (2) have had Mostly Positive or higher ratings on Steam, and (3) have had fewer than 10,000 reviews on Steam.

For Grim Omen, you can expect to receive games that fall into the genres of Dark Fantasy, Dark Sci-Fi, and Horror. Some games may have age restrictions to redeem on Steam.

For Cozy Companion, you can expect to receive cozy and gentle Steam games.

How much does shipping cost?

Accepted Answer

All magazines have FREE shipping, regardless of if you are in Alaska, Florida, or Hawaii.

If you select the Collector (Print) tier, then you will have a one-time shipping charge of $35 to get those four huge Cozy Compendium hardcover books out to you (~1,500 pages across four 8.5x11" hardcovers).

Can I contribute to the magazine? Would you consider buying/distributing Steam codes for [my game]?

Can I get Volume Zero outside of this campaign?

Accepted Answer

No, the softcover version of Volume Zero: The Rewind Issue will ONLY ever be available through this campaign. We are printing exactly enough to ship to backers and no more than that. This is your only chance to get it.

Question 13

Do you sell back issues?

Accepted Answer

For print back issues of issues published AFTER September 2025: 
No, we do not sell back issues. We print exactly the number of issues that we need each month and mail them to subscribers. After that, that's it! You won't be able to find those issues anywhere else unless your local game shop has a retail subscription.

For print back issues of issues published BEFORE September 2025: 
A limited number of classic Cozy Companion issues are available on https://www.snowbrightstudio.com

For collectors:
We do publish a hardcover "Cozy Compendium" of back issues after every six issues. We may publish a hardcover anthology of Grim Omen back issues as well every six months. These hardcover anthologies contain over 350 pages of content each.

Question 14

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

No, due to the "just in time" nature of magazine printing and the negotiations that we go through with studios to obtain Steam keys, we do not offer refunds after you have been charged for a three-month period.
