Project Update: 👀 March Update
March is already here, and our team is continuing to work on the layout of the Universe book. I would like to share excerpts from the book that show how the Collapse unfolded.
The game presents not a sudden apocalypse, but a gradual collapse, more realistic, reflecting the tragic yet real-world theories of an end brought about by a combination of causes: ecological, economic, and military.
"Before, we loved to tell the hypothetical story of our own doom… We made movies, TV shows, songs about it. We felt the vibration… the call. We had a desire to disappear, to burn the bridges that connected us to our humanity, to forsake this shell of a society and return to an animal, raw, wild state. The idea felt romantic. The actual experience wasn’t romantic at all. We were children in a burning schoolyard playing: “Let’s say we’re all going to die soon…”
Those tales always went the same: an event, The Event, The Thing, The Catastrophe, The Cataclysm… you had to endure it, then once it had come and gone, the story was about rebuilding, a new balance, mankind patching its wounds, licking them like a young war hound itching to return to the fray. We always came out on top in these stories. We got high off our assumed success, our
imagined resilience.
That’s not how it happened.
At all.
There was no single “Event”. There were dozens, hundreds.
And they are still happening…
We never rose to the occasion like in the stories. We showed neither grit nor glory. We lied, wasted time, and made things worse. And balance never returned…"

Project Update: 👀 February Update
We hope everything is fine for you, it's already February, so it's time for a new update ;)
Our team is working on the Universe layout, the most complex of both books. Here are some preview from the English, work-in-progress layout:
Finally, I would like to add a short extract from the manuscript that I liked very much...
Our ruins are traps: we used to be the only ones able to manipulate them, and now, they kill us. I never thought that a dam could… overfill. With no one to open the floodgates, the water pressure could grow too strong. Moreover, this one bore a long black trail resulting from a fire, or an explosion. I didn’t think about it. Probably an ecoterrorist act from the days of the collapse. Whatever it might have been—perhaps the world’s last flier plummeting to their death on that concrete wall—the damage must have weakened the dam… and the weight of water did the rest. It had rained the night before. Not that much, not that hard. But it had rained. One time too many.
I noticed the crack, and I wondered if it had always been there. I stopped to think about it, which is probably what saved me.
Everything broke apart at once, and the water poured with a violence I could never have imagined. I leapt, I ran, I scrambled up the side of the valley, grasping at trees, bushes, rocks. I cut my hands down to the sinews on brambles, lost several nails. I saw an opening into a cave, and had to fight off the primal urge to scurry in there to huddle. I knew that if I did, I
would be dooming myself. I knew it, but my body did not believe me. I kept going. I knew that each extra foot of distance would make all the difference. Feeling the wave rush at me, I took a huge breath, closed my eyes, and was swept away from everything, from the ground, from the branches I was clinging to. The water let go of me at the bottom of the valley. I knew in advance that my bags would be torn, my clothes in tatters, and my skin deeply cut. What I didn’t expect was that I would
keep tasting dirt for several days.
There were the pilgrims. Caught by an ice storm in the middle of summer. They had been frozen as they stood, their skin black, bloated, blistered. In walking order, all in a row. I don’t know whether they had obstinately decided to keep going in the hope of making it through the hurricane, or whether they had just chosen to accept their fate. Seeing them, I remembered frozen mammoths with mouths still full of grass. One of the men had a dandelion between his lips. The flower was yellow, the only bright spot on all this cold-cooked meat. I had faced an echo of this tempest in the form of a formidable, violent hailstorm. It had been three days prio. The sun had returned, beating down on the pilgrims and thawing pieces of them: their hands, their skulls, their shoulders. Bones were poking through, white, gnawed, scratched. It was the rats. They had come to drink, enjoying the fresh sustenance.
After reading this part, I bet you're now inspired to build your shelter right now... isn't it?

Project Update: 🐍 January Update
First, happy New Year! And it is time to give an update on the project’s progress. Our teams are currently working on the layout of both books. This is a complex stage, as the page design is particularly sophisticated.
The Universe book includes hundreds of fabricated letters, official documents, and retouched photographs, all designed to fully immerse you in post-apocalyptic rumors and to convey the everyday lives of the survivors. You can see below a preview of the French version layout:
The layout is quite complex and takes a lot of time. Even though the core design is already in place, converting everything into English is meticulous work, and our graphic designer is spending a significant amount of time on it. We can’t wait to share the first excerpts from the English version with you!

I got that it uses a D10 pool, but I cannot commit more since there isn't much info about the system. Specially how the combat and movement work, how's initiative. Can someone tell me how does it work or if there's any document provided by the creators with more details?
Project Update: 🎁 Last Hours to Join! New Stretch Goal Unlocked!
Hello survivors,
We’re in the final stretch: only a few hours left to join the Vermin 2047 crowdfunding campaign and benefit from all the perks: free gifts, special discounts. If you’ve been hesitating, this is your last call before the doors close!
✅ New Stretch Goal Unlocked: Arizona Cover Art Print by Philippe Jozelon
We’ve just unlocked a brand-new stretch goal: an art print of the Arizona cover, illustrated by Philippe Jozelon, a renowned French artist who has created multiple Vermin covers and a large number of the game’s most iconic illustrations.
Philippe’s style is distinctive: he often starts from a photo-based foundation (reference shots and visual composition), then redraws, repaints, and reworks everything to elevate the mood, sharpen the storytelling, and give the final piece that gritty, immersive Vermin atmosphere. The result feels grounded and real, but unmistakably illustrated.
Thanks again for your support. And if you know friends who’d love post-apocalyptic survival TTRPGs, now is the perfect time to share the campaign before it ends!
