This campaign is to raise funds for a reprint of Volume 1 of the BX Advanced Bestiary series, which first funded on Kickstarter two years ago. The project takes each* monster in the Old School Essentials Classic tome and does a deep dive into each, examining how they work, presenting them with customization options, and 3-4 variants and varieties inspired by the original.
*It does not include most humanoids, as those are covered in other publications I've written.
Vol. 1 is 136 pages includes monsters from A-D, and includes:
Rules and Guidelines for adding special abilities to existing monsters.
Rules for high ability scores.
100 new monsters, each illustrated.
Rules for animal training.
Five new playable classes: archling (humans with elemental heritage), the awakened cave locust, changeling, cyclopskin, and dragonborn.
Encounter lists by terrain and HD, listing all of the new monsters from the book.
The books will have black and white interiors. Right now the print on demand costs are about 5.00 for the softcover and 10.00 for the hardcover. These costs, plus shipping, will be added to the provided Drivethru coupon code. The offset version will have a sewn binding for durability and a single velvet ribbon bookmark. The physical books will be printed at 8-1/2 x 11 size.
Everything is written and I've made some minor changes to the original document; fixing some small mistakes. Once (if) the project has funded I'll go ahead and place the order for the offset books. PDF codes will go out immediately after the project funds; POD codes will go out shortly thereafter, once I get the proofs approved.
