As you may have seen in other crowdfunding campaigns, the requirements for remitting Value Added Tax (VAT) in Europe have changed. Therefore, after the campaign, in the pledge manager, backers in Europe will be charged the relevant VAT for their location.
For backers in the UK, since Brexit, VAT charges on import are also incurred. Therefore, after the campaign, in the pledge manager, backers in the UK will be charged VAT.
Mississippi
Note that, in compliance with Mississippi sales tax law, we will be required to charge sales tax in BackerKit for backers living within Mississippi. We cannot provide an accurate estimate of sales tax / VAT total since charges vary by location and are based on the total price of the order plus shipping costs. These rates will be determined accurately by the pledge manager and shipping manager. The full sales tax / VAT to be charged on each pledge will be clearly displayed in our pledge manager or shipping manager before final shipping confirmation.
Please note that we can only guarantee delivery for pledges that are confirmed in BackerKit within the specified deadlines. Unfortunately, we won't be able to deliver unconfirmed pledges once the pledge manager closes.

We come from large-scale operations in video games and graphic design, and we’ve got strong support from crowdfunding veterans, consultants, and partners. That said, we’re not naive, there are always unknowns. We’re throwing everything we’ve got at making this a success, but we also want to be honest about the specific risks we’re keeping an eye on.
1. Production Delays Manufacturing board games involves complex coordination between printers, component suppliers, and fulfillment partners. While we’ve lined up experienced vendors, unexpected delays in printing, packaging, or shipping (especially for custom dice and oversized playmats) may impact our timeline.
2. Final Component Design Red Tides features custom dice, faction-specific boards, and over 250 hand-drawn assets. We’ve prototyped extensively, but transitioning to mass production may result in minor color or component variation. We'll be working closely with our manufacturer to ensure the highest quality possible.
3. Shipping Complexities Global logistics remain unpredictable. Changes in freight availability, customs clearance, or fulfillment center backlogs may cause delivery delays. We’re working with trusted partners to minimize risk, but some backers may experience slower delivery than expected.
4. Tariffs & Import Fees Depending on your country, local customs agencies may apply VAT, tariffs, or import duties. These are outside of our control and are the responsibility of the backer. We'll do our best to reduce these fees through regional-friendly fulfillment hubs, but we can't guarantee duty-free delivery to all regions.
5. Rulebook & Gameplay Finalization The core mechanics are locked and extensively tested, but small refinements—especially to card wording, balance, and rulebook clarity, will continue through final proofreading and print prep. These won’t change the core experience.
6. Coordinating Stretch Goals If we unlock stretch goals involving new content (e.g., factions), these additions may slightly extend production or fulfillment timelines. We’ll prioritize delivering the core game on time while transparently communicating any shifts.
7. Team Bandwidth We’re a small, agile team handling everything from design and art to logistics and backer updates. While we’re committed to consistent communication, unexpected personal or professional issues could occasionally affect our pace.
8. Shipping Region Limitations Due to customs complexity or unreliable delivery systems, we may not be able to ship to all countries. Some regions may face higher costs or longer delivery times. We’ll clearly list available countries during checkout.
We'll do everything we can to ensure the game ships on time, but unforeseen circumstances could extend timelines.
