Fear not! Calrissa's Menagerie and the $1 for the reservation will be addressed in the pledge manager. We have thorough records of all of the eligible backers who reserved. In addition, we will have a specific question in the pledge survey in case your information has changed since you signed up. Please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns.
After you select a pledge level, you can add additional full pledges like the All In Captain's Chest in the add-ons. Scroll to the bottom to add them.
Nope! It'll be added in the pledge manager after we end the campaign. And if you choose a pledge level that includes it, we'll reduce the price by $10 (price of the Calrissa's Menagerie add-on). Also, your $1 reservation goes towards the total purchase!

What do I get when I pledge? Each pledge tier lists exactly what’s included—the core game, upgrades, exclusives, and stretch goals unlocked during the campaign. Can I upgrade my pledge later? Yes. After the campaign, you’ll be able to adjust your pledge in the pledge manager. Can I get multiple copies? Yes. You can add extra copies in the pledge manager after the campaign ends.
How do I update my shipping address? You'll be able to update your address through the pledge manager until we lock addresses prior to fulfillment. How can I contact you if I have an issue? Reach out through the BackerKit messaging system or email us at [email protected]
When will I get my game? Estimated delivery is Q1 2026. We’ll provide regular updates and let you know if anything changes. Do you ship worldwide? Yes, though shipping rates vary by region and are calculated after the campaign in the pledge manager. Will I have to pay customs or VAT? We’ll do our best to offer friendly shipping to major regions, but VAT and customs may apply depending on your country. Details will be clarified in the pledge manager. What is Red Tides: A Tale of New Caribbea? It’s a cooperative naval strategy game where players work together to hunt merchants, upgrade their ships, and take down the tyrant John Davies before time runs out. Is this a finished game? The core mechanics and design are complete. We’re using this campaign to fund final production, artwork polishing, and manufacturing. Will the game be available in retail? We’re focused on crowdfunding first. Retail availability (if any) will be limited and priced higher. Some campaign rewards will never be available again.

Because this is a crowdfunding campaign, all pledges are considered final once the campaign ends. However, we understand that sometimes things change. Here’s how we handle refund requests: Before the campaign ends: You can cancel or adjust your pledge directly through BackerKit. After the campaign ends: Refunds are generally not guaranteed because funds are immediately used for production and fulfillment. That said, if you have a special circumstance, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to help. If there's an issue with your order (missing, damaged, or incorrect items), we’ll make it right. Please contact us within 30 days of receiving your package and we’ll resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
