Project Update: News: Edit and Errored Credit Cards

Hello everybody!

We are happy to announce that the text for the main book has now been sent to our editor Neil. Because it is more text than anticipated, his work will take a bit longer than planned, but no worry: We have a way to work around that and you'll get your books on time! Yay!

Needless to say: We guess that, in the end, the book will be more than 400 pages long. So, you get even more than what you've paid for. And it is going to be a fabulous book! Yay!

This means that now, Andreas and I are free to start our work on the Ars Magica Guide to Serenissima Obscura. This will definitely be a lot of work, but we've got help from the Ars Magica community. We'll write more about this later.

But there is also bad news:
Some backer's credit cards have errored on Backerkit and their pledges could not be collected after all. We offer those backers the opportunity to pay via Paypal to us directly. Those who are affected, will receive a mail later this day from my email address: [email protected]
So, when you get such a mail: THIS IS NO SCAM.

Thank you,

Melina

Project Update: Thank you, thank you! (And: our next steps)

Dear backers!

Thank you so, so much for supporting our dark version of renaissance Venice with all its wonderful supplements, the maps, the extra books for D&D and Ars Magica...

Speaking of: We have reached the community goal for the Ars Magica Guide for Serenissima Obscura – it will be printed alongside the main book in the finest offset quality. Unfortunately, the 5e Player's Guide did not get that far. It will therefore be produced on a digital printer.

We have also unlocked the 4th stretch goal: The PDF Art Pack with all the beautiful illustrations for easy use during your play or just to admire. Yay!

Yesterday, I was happy, but also tired beyond exhaustion. And today, the work continues. There is much to do in the next weeks and months.

These are the next steps:
  • Preparing a pre-order store with a limited choice for people who have missed the campaign. The prices will also be a bit higher than during the campaign.
  • Fine-tuning and complementing some last paragraphs of the main book.
  • Giving everything to our editor Neil Kingham.
  • Work on the Ars Magica content. (A lot of work, that I am actually looking forward to!)
  • At the same time, our good friends from Hedron are going to set up the VTT modules for Serenissima Obscura and The Straight Way Lost. I am looking forward to our cooperation.

As planned and announced, the pledge manager will be opened later in the year, sometime in autumn.
We can only set the shipping prices when we layout is finished and the printers can calculate the exact weight of all components for us.

So... no rest for the wicked!

Have a great day,

Melina

Project Update: The inevitable failed payments

Dear backers.

Thank you again for supporting our project!

Backerkit is now in the process of collecting the funds via Stripe from your credit cards.
This usually takes a few days.

As of now, approximately 20 credit cards could no yet be charged due to errors. This is very common.
In these cases, Backerkit sends you an email with the request to update your credit card information.

Please be so kind as to follow up with this.

Thank you,

Melina

I decided to jump in on this and grab your previous work. I am always interested in music so I picked that up as well. In the future I hope you hit on other classic themes like this. History has such excellent works like Paradise Lost or the figure Orc in Blake's work https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orc_(Blake). I almost backed a KS on John Dee & Edward Kelly. Maybe it'll be available in the store. Cheers on a successful BK.

Project Update: 35 hours left – Important info for Retailers - Candelabro

Hello everybody,

These last days are incredibly exciting and I still hope that we can reach another stretch goal level before the end of the campaign: The PDF Art Pack with all illustrations to use during your campaign. We need a bit over 3500€ worth of pledges for that. Why don't you help us achieve this goal!

But let me share some more numbers and news:

Only 9 copies of "The Ars Magica Guide to Serenissima Obscura" are missing to fulfilment of this community goal. I am pretty sure that everyone just needs the high quality offset version of the book. Buy it now! The Ars Magica Community deserves the best experience possible.

I have added special add-ons for RETAILERS. You can now upgrade your pledge by adding copies of all printed books at 50% off the MSRP. This applies to the print copies of:
  • Serenissima Obscura
  • The Straight Way Lost
  • The 5e Player's Guide
  • The Ars Magica Guide

I would also like to offer a bit more encouragement to the D&D community: Such a fascinating scenario like Shadow Side Venice (basically a mega dungeon), our Renaissance character classes and our new species should certainly be of interest to the community. Not to speak of our lovely monsters and creatures. Everyone must just love them.

So, let me introduce one of the many creatures who wander our dark world: Candelabro
Candelabro was once human, a candle maker who accidentally wandered into the Shadow Side World. He was lost and scared, but the lights gave him the courage to go on. For a short time, he managed to hide from the monsters, but eventually, he was found by the Shadow Paladins. Their swords pierced his body, but did not kill him. Over the years, his body mutated like everything that is exposed to this realm, but his spirit remained unbroken. The sad monstrosity has long forgotten its true name, but will speak in the ancient Venetian dialect. Whenever it meets a mortal, Candelabro will offer to light their way, but most visitors are too scared and run or attack the creature. Will the adventurers acknowledge the monster as the human it once was, or put it to rest? Candelabro could be an ally in this dark world or just another monster to kill.

With this in mind: May Candelabro light your path to Serenissima Obscura!
