Project Update: Serenissima Obscura – at the printers
Hello, dear backers!
First of all: Happy Easter to those who celebrate it!
This is a short update to inform you that everything is proceeding as planned. Yay!
The digital rewards:

This is a short update to inform you that everything is proceeding as planned. Yay!
The digital rewards:
- We have started distributing the digital rewards. All maps, TSWL material and the artbook are already in your pledge manager.
- The digital versions of all three Serenissima books will follow in the next days, when our designer is finished creating the PDFs with bookmarks.
- The extra adventure for Early Backers is basically finished, but it still needs a statsblock or two. (Or course for 5e and Ars Magica!) Then it will be laid out and distributed right away. I am estimating sometime next week.
The physical rewards:
All three books and the maps are now at the printer's in Lithuania and will be delivered to our logistics provider by approximately April, 24. He will then start shipping immediately.
This means that European backers should receive their rewards by the beginning of May. Oversees shipping might of course take longer.
All parcels will be sent by DHL with tracking.
However:
I am still waiting for a few backers to fill out their surveys or resolve credit card issues. Don't you want your rewards?
So, now off to create the statsblock for Ulrico Pampanin, a flawed alchemist from the Dolomites. No rest (or holidays) for the wicked!

Project Update: Serenissima Obscura ready for print – Last chance to order everything!
After 2.5 years of work… we’ve reached the final step.
Everything is now ready to go to the printer on Monday:
- Serenissima Obscura – Main Book (420 pages)
- The Magical Renaissance – 5e Player’s Guide (92 pages)
- The Magical Renaissance – Conversion Guide for Ars Magica (144 pages)
- 8 Street Maps by Mark Smylie
- 4 Battle Maps
Some of it began in 1994 as a campaign in Venice... other parts grew out of our first work, The Straight Way Lost. And now, it has become something far bigger than we ever imagined.
It’s been an intense journey. We are, quite honestly, exhausted… and very, very happy.
As for me personally: It has been a true honor to bring this vision of Venice to life – a city I deeply love, in all its beauty and shadow.

Important: Most supplements will only be available digitally in the future. Only the main book will remain available in print.

Project Update: Serenissima Obscura: Pledge Manager and Pre-Order Store close in 2 weeks!
Hello everybody!
We are nearing the end of the production-phase for Serenissima Obscura!
Here is a status update:
Progress Update
- Serenissima Obscura and well as The Magical Renaissance Conversion Guide for Ars Magica are ready for print.
- The Magical Renaissance Player's Guide for 5e is in layout.
- We still have to prepare the Venice Street Maps for print, but this will not take long.
- So, we are still on track to send everything to our printer in Lithuania by the end of this month!
Pledge Manager to close on March, 31:
- 646 backers have completed the pledge manager. You are all set for receiving the books and maps. ❤️
- A handful of backers still have pending credit card charges. Please visit the pledge manager and update your payment information
- 10 backers have not yet filled out the survey. Don't you want what you have already paid for?
The Pre-Order-Store will also close on March, 31! 🔥
Remember that all of our add-ons will later only be available as digital versions. To get all books and maps as high quality prints, you have to buy them now. Here!

Project Update: Serenissima Obscura almost finished – Pre-Order Store & Pledge Manager will close on March, 31
Hello everyone!
News from the Pledge Manager
- 598 backers have completed the pledge manager – thank you so much for that. You are all set for receiving your wonderful books and maps. ❤️
- A handful of backers still have pending credit card charges. Please visit the pledge manager and update your information or pay per Paypal. This is now possible within the pledge manager.
- 42 backers have not yet filled out the survey. Can you please do that in the next days? 🙏🏻
Progress Update
- Serenissima Obscura is basically finished. The cover still needs to be adapted to the final page count, but then: Yay!!!
- The Ars Magica Guide to the Magical Renaissance is out of review and now in the final layout phase.
- The other add-ons are still waiting in line for the layout, but these will not take a lot of time.
- We are still on track to print by the end of March!

The pre-order-store is still open - but not for long! 🔥

Progress Update
- For the main book, I am still in the final error-finding and referencing phase. Still 100 pages to look through before the layout fine-tuning can begin. You will receive the PDF as soon this last phase is finished. If all goes well, this will be by the end of this month.
- The add-ons are in layout and already quite far advanced. See below the photo of Thorsten Janes in the room next to me, woking on The Ars Magica Guide to the Magical Renaissance.
- We have decided to print EVERYTHING in high offset quality in Lithuania, even the 5e Player's Guide and the maps. This will cost us quite a bit more than planned – but it will so be worth it. ❤️
