Project Update: 📢 Important Update Regarding US Shipments – Age of Automaton
Dear Backers,
We need to share an important update regarding US shipments of Age of Automaton (AoA).
What Happened Now, Regarding US Shipments, (This Doesn’t Affect AoB)
First of all, we didn’t ship directly from China to the U.S. because AoA’s US order volume is relatively small, and the shipping cost would have been extremely high under that route. Instead, we followed our fulfillment partner’s recommendation by sending the stock to our worldwide hub in the UK first, and then forwarding it to the U.S.
Under this route, the tariff is calculated based on the retail value (selling price) instead of production cost. This results in approximately additional USD $29 per copy, which was unexpected for us as well.
To clarify, AoA was launched before the recent new tariff regulations were announced. Unfortunately, after the campaign, a new policy was introduced that now applies an additional 47.5% tariff on goods imported from China into the USA.
However, the routing we chose could still be the best way to ship to backers in the U.S. because shipping directly from China to the USA in relatively small orders would actually cost more than the tariff itself.
What We’re Doing Now
For the moment, we have decided to hold all US-bound AoA copies at our UK hub while we work to find the best possible solution.
We are actively working with both the factory and our fulfillment partners to explore alternatives, expecting to reach toward a solution this week and will update you again around next Monday.
Sincerely, charging backers more would be a last resort, and we deeply hope to avoid that outcome.
We are truly sorry for this situation. This is our first ever project produced and delivered on a worldwide scale. Also, the current situation was truly unexpected and beyond our control. However, we are doing everything we can to resolve it responsibly.

Note Regarding Age of Bitcoin (AoB)
This situation will NOT affect Age of Bitcoin.
Thanks to the overwhelming support and high order volume for AoB, we are able to ship a large batch directly into the USA, avoiding this issue entirely.

Project Update: Shipping Update: On the Way to the UK Hub & Happy New Year 2026 🎉✨
Dear Backers,
The Age of Automaton board games are currently on a ship heading to the UK fulfillment hub and are expected to arrive around early January.
The vessel departed from the port in late November. Once it arrives at the hub, our fulfillment partner will require approximately 1–2 weeks for customs clearance and fulfillment planning.
In addition, our company, Four Comma Game, will need some extra time to complete the GPSR process. This is a relatively new requirement for us, so we kindly ask for your patience during this phase.
We sincerely apologize for the delayed update, as our schedule has been quite full recently due to ongoing work on our Age of Bitcoin project.

Project Update: Shipment Update: AoA Leaving the Factory!

We’ve received confirmation from our factory that repacking for Age of Automaton is already complete, and it is time for the board game to leave the factory! 🎉
We’re happy to share the latest logistics update for Age of Automaton:
- 🚚 Factory Departure: Scheduled for November 19, 2025.
- 🚢 Vessel Departure: Expected to leave the port on November 24, 2025.
- 📦 Fulfilment Hub Dispatch: Estimated around early January 2026.

Project Update: 🚢 Production Update: Shipping Delay & Promo Card Issue
Dear Backers,
We apologize for the delay in communication. Our team just returned from SPIEL Essen (Germany) last week and immediately participated in another local event — thank you for your patience during this busy time.
We originally scheduled the game to be shipped around October 22nd, which was the earliest available vessel booking. However, while we were in Germany, we received unexpected news from the factory:
The shipment that was supposed to be sent to our fulfillment partner was mistakenly shipped to Thailand instead.
This means that all game boxes at the factory were shipped without the promo cards inside.
🃏 Promo Cards Reprint & Repacking in Progress
We have urgently instructed the factory to:
- Reprint all the missing promo cards
- Reopen and repack every single game box to include them
The factory has already confirmed that this process is underway, and the games will be ready for shipment again very soon.
📢 What Happens Next?
Once our crowdfunding team returns from China, we’ll post an official update via the campaign page.
