So the team behind this are Word Forge Games (wordforgegames.com) and the creators of the Heroes system: Yann, Clem and Jules. We came together as a team in 2025, once Yann, Clem and Jules got their IP back from the failed company 'Pig from Hell'. Pig from Hell was owned by an individual that has absolutely nothing to do with this project. We are working to get the game, Heroes of the Pacific, to the backers that supported the failed Kickstarter campaign. We are investing a lot of money and time to do this and have seen nothing from the previous Kickstarter campaign. We are also offering the game to everyone else.
If you are a Kickstarter backer and are using the same email, this campaign knows who you are and hence which pledge you pledged for. 1. If you pledged at the BANZAI!! level on the KS you can pledge here for £1 + postage. You will then get the Word Forge Games’ Big Box set of Heroes of the Pacific. 2. If you pledged at the SEMPER FI level on the KS you can pledge here for £16 + postage. You will then get the Word Forge Games’ Big Box set of Heroes of the Pacific. 3. If you pledged at the GUNG HO level on the KS you can pledge here for £65 + postage. You will then get the Word Forge Games’ Big Box set of Heroes of the Pacific. Please be aware, we are not taking this product to retail. If you have any issues, including especially an email change since you backed, email [email protected] with the title: 'HotP KS to BK Help needed'
Unfortunately, we do not have any access to the Gamefound account used to collect pledges and money from people. Hence we are unable to do anything presently. Due to the lack of information obtainable to this date and the variability in status of pledges made on Gamefound, we cannot 100% confirm the status of any pledge made there. We are hoping to gain access and clarity, but presently this has not been forthcoming. As Word Forge Games understands it, the Gamefound campaign was set up after the owner of 'Pig from Hell' put it into liquidation. Fortunately, many people were able to get a full or partial refund. We suggest any Gamefound Backers look to obtain a refund from Gamefound or your card supplier/Paypal. Many people have had success with this approach.
This will depend on when you request it. • If within the first 2 weeks: yes. • If after that, but before the pledge manager is launched: Yes, but note that the refund will be minus Backerkit fees (approx. 10%) and taxes (20%) • If after the pledge manager has started: Yes, but note that the refund will be minus Backerkit fee (approx. 10%), pledge Manager fee (10%) and taxes (20%) • If after production is commissioned: No NOTE: Pledges of £1 cannot be refunded.
Yes, You can.
Yes Heroes of the Pacific will be available in French and English. You will confirm your choice of language in the Pledge Manager. Pledge manager happens after the campaign when you also confirm your address and pay for postage.
No matter which level you pledge at, our intention is to get you your pledge reward in 2026. Presently, the vast majority of the product is laidout and we have a manufacturer lined up. Once the pledge money has cleared we will start sending the files we have ready to the manufacturer and work with them to get the boxes and inserts designed. Obviously, we will keep you updated as we progress.
There's two: 1. Complete your pledge manager by the deadline. We will be clear on that date and share it often via updates. If you have not completed your pledge manager by the deadline, we will not be able to get you your pledge rewards in a timely or cost effective manner. If you complete it within a year of the deadline, we will honour your rewards (whilst stock lasts), but likely the rewards will be delayed in us completing them AND liable for added postage/handling charges/storage fees. If completed after a year of deadline (or not completed at all), your pledge reward will be donated to a charity of our choice. 2. It's amazing we have to say this BUT: Be kind and courteous. Rudeness or abuse from you will be seen as a decision to forfeit your pledge reward. We are here to make games and have fun doing it, not to be a vent for you.
Well, we, Word Forge Games, are massive fans of our community, both the creators, artists, designers, manufacturers, producers and community as a whole, including you the players and the pledgers. People pledging and not getting their rewards is rubbish, designers and creators seeing their dreams turn to nightmares is rubbish and it's even more rubbish when this happens due to the actions of bad players. This is the 3rd project we have rescued, firstly we made good on Airborne in your Pocket and D-Day Dice, with the designer Emmanuel Aquin and then the roleplaying game and game company, SLA Industries and Nightfall Games. Across these 3 games, we have made good on others poor actions for around 4000 pledgers. It makes us feel good. BUT what it also does is give us collaborators and friends for the rest of our days. Dave and Jared at Nightfall are now in their golden age and Nightfall Games has gone on to produce more SLA Industries products since WFG involvement (7 years) than was done in the prior 25 years (and they were previously part of Wizards of the Coast and Cubicle 7). Nightfall is also producing other games too including licensed products with The Terminator and Hellboy franchises. Emmanuel Aquin, designer of D-Day Dice and Airborne in your Pocket, and Word Forge now have a long history and he officially joined our team as an employee working on developing new games and producing other by other designers. Look out for Airborne Commander and Pocket Nautilus. WFG hope we can repeat this success with Yann, Clem and Jules. And finally we are 'Heroes' fans, we want more and are very very excited to be part of the Heroes future.
BackerKit FAQ
BackerKit Crowdfunding is an all-or-nothing collaborative funding platform. Creators share their project ideas and set a funding goal with a deadline. Backers pledge money to help make the project possible.
If the project meets its goal by the deadline, pledges are charged and the creator moves forward. If it doesn’t, no one is charged.
Backers often receive special rewards for their support, such as:
- Exclusive products
- Bonus rewards for backing related projects
- Discount pricing
- Behind-the-scenes updates
- Creative input opportunities
Pledging in crowdfunding is a commitment to support the creation of a new product or project. Unlike a traditional purchase, you're not buying an item that already exists. Instead, your contribution helps bring a creative idea to life, and in return, you typically receive rewards (such as the product itself) as a thank you for your early support.
- Select a pledge level with the reward(s) you would like to receive
- Select any add-ons
- Confirm your pledge!
- You are charged only if the campaign meets its funding goal.
- Charges happen when the campaign ends, not when you pledge.
The creator will send you a survey to:
- Ask you for more information about your rewards (selecting options, etc)
- Collect shipping information
- Offer additional items you may want to add to your pledge
- Collect shipping fees (if applicable)
The survey will be sent to the email address we have on file with your pledge. Additional payments are charged when you complete the survey.
Only the project creator and the BackerKit Support Team can see your pledge and contact information. Other backers and the public cannot see your individual pledge amount or personal details.
You can change or adjust your pledge level and add-ons before the campaign ends. After the project concludes, cancellations or changes are at the creator's discretion and may depend on what stage the project is in.
Overtime Mode extends your campaign past its original end time to give backers a final chance to make their pledge. It will add an additional 10 minutes past the end time as long as pledges keep coming in. The campaign will end when there is a 10-minute period without any new pledges.
