Below you can see a number of the updated tiles and boards. We’ve completely revamped everything over the last 3 years, redesigned all the artwork and worked on the rules too. This ‘update and improve’ approach will be taken forward with all Word Forge Games’ Heroes projects, both new editions of old games (like Heroes of Stalingrad) and all new games (more news to come on those).

Did you back Heroes of the Pacific on Gamefound? … If so read this:
As we enter the last days of this phenomenal campaign, we want to thank all the backers, old and new, for getting involved.
To have over 1489 former-Kickstarter backers and 250/300 new backers pledging to get Heroes of the Pacific makes us very happy, but in the back of our minds we remember the old war adage: ‘No Man Left Behind!’. This makes us think of the wronged Gamefound Backers.
History
As many know, the company behind the failed ‘Pig from Hell’ company pulled the plug on ‘Pig from Hell’ leaving over 1400 Kickstarter backers empty handed. We were able to get the details of those pledges and hence do our best to make sure those backers get something. It was simple. We know what was pledged, by whom and for which pledge level.
Unfortunately, it seems the owner of ‘Pig from Hell’ also went to Gamefound and took money from backers for shipping, up-pledging and new pledges. Word Forge Games didn’t know all of this when we took over, but we do now.
Once we understood that new backers had been caught up in the Gamefound trap, we recognised people had been ‘left behind’. Since then, we have been doing everything we can to get the Backer information from Gamefound, but unlike Kickstarter this has not been possible. (To be fair the Devil Pig team had wrestled the KS account away from the ‘Pig from Hell’ and this simply was not possible for the Gamefound account).
To make things more complicated with regard to Gamefound, many people managed to get their money back, so without knowing who backed, what they backed for, how much they backed, when they backed, and importantly whether they got a refund or partial refund, we are not able to approach looking after the Gamefound backers in the same way we can for the Kickstarter backers.

Simply we would like to make an offering to Gamefound backers of the following:
This pledge level is specifically for Gamefound backers who backed on Gamefound. It is a complementary gesture that we can safely make without jeopardising Word Forge Games.
What do I need to do to qualify for this pledge level?
1. Be a pledger of Heroes of the Pacific on Gamefound.
2. Send proof of your pledge to [email protected]. The email should be titled: ‘HotP Gamefound Proof’. This should be a screen grab of your Gamefound receipt.
3. Pledge for the ‘Gamefounder‘ pledge level.
4. With your proof and pledge we are all good. If not we will be in touch.

… Si oui, lisez ceci : Alors que nous entrons dans les derniers jours de cette campagne exceptionnelle, nous souhaitons remercier tous les backers, anciens comme nouveaux, pour leur engagement. Historique
Comme beaucoup le savent, la société derrière le projet défaillant “Pig from Hell” a mis fin au projet, laissant plus de 1400 backers Kickstarter sans rien. Nous avons pu récupérer les informations concernant ces pledges et avons donc fait de notre mieux pour que ces backers reçoivent quelque chose. C’était simple : nous savions qui avait souscrit et à quel niveau.
Malheureusement, il semble que le propriétaire de “Pig from Hell” soit également passé par Gamefound et ait encaissé de l’argent pour les frais de port, les upgrades et de nouveaux pledges. Word Forge Games n’avait pas connaissance de tout cela lorsque nous avons repris le projet, mais c’est désormais le cas.
Lorsque nous avons réalisé que de nouveaux backers avaient été pris au piège sur Gamefound, nous avons compris que des personnes pourraient être “laissées de côté”. Depuis, nous faisons tout notre possible pour obtenir les informations des backers Gamefound, mais contrairement à Kickstarter, cela n’a malheureusement pas été possible. (Pour être honnête, l’équipe Devil Pig avait réussi à récupérer le compte Kickstarter de “Pig from Hell”, ce qui n’a pas été possible pour Gamefound).
La situation est encore compliquée par le fait que certains backers ont réussi à obtenir un remboursement. Sans savoir qui a souscrit, à quoi, combien, quand, et surtout s’ils ont été remboursés (totalement ou partiellement), nous ne pouvons pas traiter les backers Gamefound de la même manière que les backers Kickstarter. Mais nous avons un plan…

We are doing really well with this campaign and have a lot of engagement across here, the old Kickstarter page, Board Game Geek and the various Facebook groups.
One thing that kept popping up was the want by many to support, without getting 'Heroes of the Pacific specifically, so we have added a new pledge level for people to Follow along and offer their support. This pledge level can also be used to pledge for any addons you may want:
As well as this, we have created a dual use add-on: This add-on will get you a whole load of digital swag, like wallpapers, posters, and a special Devil Pig War Bond certificate, specifically for this campaign. We will also send you links to all the old back catalogue of Rules, War Stories and Scenarios, which we will be uploading to the Word Forge Games website.
